What do you like about your game?
I liked learning a ton about audio visualization and learning how to write my own shaders :D

Really interesting game! The visuals were cool, and the concept was very cool, but I did find it a little confusing at times, and at points a bit visually cluttered, not being able to tell apart platforms. Maybe some outlines (or something like that) would have made it a bit clearer. Anyway, great entry :)

a short and sweet rhythm-platformer! it took me a minute to realize that everything was happening in one room, and another minute to beat it. interesting level design and nice integration with the music. great title too, very clever!

the camera acceleration/smoothing felt awful, but other than that the mechanics were solid. some of the colors could have been better, as the contrast was very low at times. also, the “beat” of the music could have been more clear, as it’s important for gameplay purposes. it’s not a big problem, just a bit subdued, and I think it could be emphasized more.

thanks for the feedback! the camera movement is something that I can improve upon and hadn't considered until after submission. hope to get around to fixing these after the jam is over:)

Unfortunately I didn't get very far into the game, since the gradual deceleration on camera movements threw me off a little. The visual style also made it a little bit difficult to tell where I would land or what exactly was going on around me.

That being said, I always appreciate strong visual styles! The idea for rhythm based platforming instantly reminded me of the cassette tapes in Celeste and I could imagine something like what working in first person too! I do suck at those rooms so maybe that's why I didn't get very far in your game :)

The visual style also made me think of the game antichamber. I haven't personally played it, but to me the style seems a little more digestible there so maybe you could take some hints from it. Especially the beginning room in your game reminded me Overall it really is a shame I couldn't get far into your game, I'm sure you have some cool platforming in there! Adjust the style a little bit and maybe add an option to change the camera deceleration and I'm sure I'd get to enjoy far more of your game!

thanks for playing! sorry for the wonky camera movement, that's something I will get to after the jam. I can definitely see how Celeste may have influenced my game's design; and while the anti-chamber feel may have come from my lack of art, I will look into the digestibility of antichamber's style as that is another game that I have also played and enjoyed :)

It's very cool to see a rhythm platformer, which is actually pretty rare. I do feel like the base sensitivity was a bit too strong and platforming was very basic, though. If you fixed the issue with the very bright light by itself, the game would be massively improved already!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Yes, these are all good points I will address after the jam.

Cool concept Unfortunately I failed at the green ones, but I find the idea very interesting and entertaining. Maybe not for people with light and color sensitivity, but other than that good job! Also, were the sequences random at some point, or were I just unable to follow the rhythm? xD

Developer

The sequences are not random, however, I noticed that at points the beats of the music are not registered. Whoops!

I liked how in sync everything was with the music! Awesome style too. I think it would have been cool to see more variation in the platforming, but it's nice to see another rhythm-based game.

Great beatboxing at the end :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Unfortunately, I did not have time at the end to design more level variations, but there are certainly more possibilities! I do like me some rhythm-based gaming :)

I really like how the music dictates the speed of the platforms, very cool idea! One only thing I didn't really like is those random moments where everything would became too bright, it was a bit painful for my eyes, but still worth nonetheless

Thanks! Sorry for inflicting blindness on you(*゚д゚) I got similar feedback from a friend play-testing, but swapping the color palette would have taken too long :_^) I think if I toned down the red and green brighter palettes to be more muted it would be fine (something something grayscale brightness ratios NTSC formula). Gonna get around to it after the jam.

graphics are cool also your beatboxing is very good

Developer

gotta love adding the goofy ideas :^) also thanks, first time putting an emphasis on graphics for a game
