There is a lot of good art here and the audio fits alongside it very well. I also really like the idea of adding a moving snowball that you need to keep an eye on so it doesn't get too far. It's a pretty unique take on platforming. My biggest problem is that the controls are not very responsive. Sometimes it would simply refuse to jump for as much as 30 seconds or more. My character was constantly jittering too so it felt like I was stuck in the floor or something, but it happened so frequently that it got in the way all the time. But with a little more polish on the gameplay side and finishing the remaining art assets, I think this could be a really unique and fun game so nicely done!

Really? Is there anything on the art side you would like to see improved in particular?
And thanks you for like our game and concept.

You're welcome! I do mean it as the core gameplay of trying to time platforming with managing the snowball's position was a refreshing take on platformers in general. For the art, the biggest stand outs to me was with the terrain and the pick-ups. There was not much too those so they looked odd next to the player character. The snowball could use a little more details as well since it's such a central part of the game, but that one is more a personal choice than anything else.

Altough I think there's some room for improvement, especially on the side of control reesponsiveness and animations, I think the character design and the story are great! I hope you will continue to improve your game and I will be super excited to play an  enhanced version :) Great job to all the team :)

Developer

Surely we will make this game 10x better when we can update and get back to it.

Played the game to the end. Jumping could be a little more responsive, but I appreciate the care that went into building the game; the story with the dialogue and the portraits is a really nice touch that gives the game a good setting and purpose. It’s also nice that all the characters are fleshed out with their own personalities.

Great work, keep it up!

Developer

Thank you so much for checking it out! Yeah,  it was really important for the characters to come across with their own little personality traits, so I'm glad it showed. And yeah, the jumping is a little janky. xD

I didn't quite get the gameplay at the beginning but after realizing it, it was fun!

Developer

Thank you for playing our game.  Were there anything else that might have been confusing on anything we could potentially improve upon?

Took me a while to realize you had to be moving for jump to work. Not sure if that was intentional, but if so it wasn't clear. Once I figured that out it played well. Cute lil characters!

Developer

Our character designer really had a blast making them character designs. Also thank you for playing our game. We noticed the jump could be a little stiff

Cute characters. I went into this without reading the comments. Had similar question about what to do to win. Not sure if it was suppose to restart when I exited to the right without snow. Seemed like the jump was charging before I could jump again?

Jump input was a little off. Cute art! Nice soundtrack.

I didn't quite understand how to finish the levels after I got the stars!  Was I supposed to do something with the snowballs after the stars were cleared?  Loved the character art on this one!

Developer

Hey thanks for trying it out! Hmm yeah that was an oversight in instructions. After collecting all of the items, the gate on the right opens, and you can roll the snowball to the right where it will land in the pile of snow on the right.

Had a small input issue but a good little game otherwise!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Yeah the inputs are a bit janky. Thanks for checking it out. :)
