Dang, this was hard. The timer goes out really fast!
Fun twist on the theme tho! and the UI looks dope too :)
Shame there wasn't much with the story. A few lines at the start, and maybe between levels (why do we need to reach the end? is this some sort of Red Light, Green Light thing ?) would have helped a bit.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the advice :D

Submitted(+1)

Well, I ...finished it :D even though I read the reviews first and realized this didn't actually have any Ink in it, hehe. That said, Ink would've been -super- easy to add to this, and a great fit. For example you could've had a narrator that comments on your deaths, or little storybits that happen between levels. Maybe for the next jam you can consider actually implementing ink ;)

Developer

Thanks for the feedback hope you enjoyed play the game

This was fun to play. The difficulty balancing was good and I felt myself improving, though I will say I didn't get all the way to level 10, got to 8. Instructions are clear and it's good to have the time bar in the top center of screen so I can see it quickly. Didn't really see the theme for the jam, other than eye above the bar, and the narrative component (and ink) wasn't there, as someone already mentioned. In future just make sure you read the jam requirements carefully.

Thank you but I tried my best

You made a fun game, be proud :)

Thanks,

1. I made the camera slower so the player will stop for a second so that's why there is platforms off screen

2. I tried making a coyote jump but unity crashed and I had little time left

3.I made the hit boxes much smaller then they were but it feels off

Hope you enjoyed it

Certainly an innovative take on the theme. It's more of a game than a story, meaning there's almost no story at all. As for the mechanics: Almost everyone else has commented on them, so for the sake of not repeating the same things, I'm leaving them out.

It was a fun and simplistic game overall (though by no means easy to code I'd guess)

Developer

Thank you,

I had 3 days after school so in total I worked on the project like 10-13 hours but I am kinda proud of myself

The only thing I will try to improve in the next game jam is the movement

This was a pretty fun platformer, albeit not exceptionally innovative.  Not really sure where Ink was used, but I'll trust you.  Definitely fits the theme.

Developer

Thank you,

so didn't think that "ink" has to be in your game

I thought the theme was just "in a blink of an eye"

It's stated twice in the description: "The inkJam is an annual community organized jam focused on storytelling and narrative games written in ink," and then later "As long as you are using ink in a way or another, you can use absolutely anything."  Plus it's in the name.

0/10, no hidden secrets on the left side of the screen (I think).

Nah, I'm just kidding. This is a ton of work for just a few days, and I genuinely think you did a great job. If I had to pick anything to complain about it would probably be the camera, since it feels a little slow, but on the flip side it promotes memorizing levels in order to get faster speeds, so I think it works to your benefit overall. The game feels a little out of place in a jam that's said to focus on storytelling and narrative games, but as long as it uses ink I don't think it really matters, as it fits the theme really well anyways!

Developer

You scared dude but thank you overall

Scared? Sorry, I'm a bit confused. If you mean scared of ratings or something, yours is WAY more of a game than mine is! Never meant any offense, I really was trying to be funny and I like your game. I just try to offer something beyond just "I like it" since a lot of people tend to want to work on their stuff further once the jam is over.

Developer

No I got it but I meant that you said my game is "bad" and I really thought you mean it and then I red the rest of it and I was happy to read what you said

thanks overall

needed the screen scrolling to be a bit faster to keep up with character speed, but otherwise fun

Developer

Thanks and hope you enjoyed it

Nice game with a cute style, I enjoyed playing it. I died a lot in the last level. Once I got used to the controls and learned how to jump and avoid obstacles it was possible to move the character very precise. The amount of levels is very impressive for the short time of this Jam.

Developer

Thank you so much man and I just started at the last 3 days so that was the best I could do and I hope you enjoyed it

Submitted(+1)

I really enjoyed this, I found myself trying over and over. I just wished the controls fro jumping where smoother, but the movement of the main character is soo good, I like it

Developer

thank you,

so I couldn't make better movement because

  1. I suck
  2. I had 3 days to make my game
Submitted

You absolutely don't suck. At all. This game is so so cool (and even more taking into consideration the time), I wouldn't even know how to start making this, for real. Graphical stuff has been my forever enemy. Be proud of what you did! I just commented on that so to look for something constructive to tell over here, but I really enjoyed it and tried several times (because I suck and keep dying haha).

Developer

Thanks man you made my day

Nice job!

Just a few critiques.

The controls were just a little wobbly for more of a twitch platformer, especially taking into account a time limit.

I’d also make the hitbox for the player a little bit smaller than the character. I felt like I didn’t hit the spikes, but still got killed by them a few times. Could be tied to the controls.

Developer
  1. Thanks,
  2. The Controls are the most thing I hate
  3. I've made all of the hit boxes much smaller than they were

Mind blowing
