How was your jamming experience? Were you able to produce more or less than you expected?
Would have liked to have added more levels

How did you apply the theme to your entry?
I wanted to apply a double meaning to the theme: outer space and physical space

I love the grab mechanic and how i can control how far it goes! :3 I couldn't clear all the levels but I enjoyed my time! :D

Developer

Great to hear! That last level is tough.

HostSubmitted

That was fun! The mechanic worked nicely and the art & music really fit nicely with the game! You did a good job of adding complexities with the levels too, so nice work!

Developer

Thanks! Glad you had some fun with it :)

I dig the artstyle. The grabber mechanic was innovative in how it can extend different lengths, which adds an element of strategy. I would suggest adding a little menu. Even just with a quit option because I had to open task manager or press alt+tab to close the application.

Developer

Thanks for your thoughts. Yeah, I've been doing a lot of alt+tabbing to close jam entries too, so I agree :)

Nice little concept like how you implemented the theme into your game. Definitely not a game for people that have no patience. I got stuck on level 4 weird stuff kept happening on that level.

Star riding the planet was chasing me around lol.

ever time I seemed to grab that item the star would bounce downwards and get grabbed with the item .

And everything wanted to clump up at the bottom. Had some items and star bounce around and fly right into me so that wasn't that fun either. But other then this level things seemed to be working pretty well just have a few little bugs to try and work out if you plan on working on this game anymore that is.

On a side note you left the game name Template2D if that even is a concern is a different story.

Developer

Thanks for your comments! Yeah, that final level was made pretty close to deadline so I didn't get much time to test it. Essentially there are a few too many objects in the same physics layer that can collide with, and influence the physics of, other objects. (and It is exacerbated by  the object's movement speeds being faster in that level). That said, it is do-able. If you can snatch a few junk items out of the crowd pretty quickly after the level starts the scope for weird physics to happen is reduced.

I always start out with a file called Template2D as it's just my default blank Unity project I have saved with the folders already set up and ordered the way I like them. Just saves me 5 minutes when I start something new. Forgot to change the exe name :)

Nice so that was the final level t hen so i almost beat it lol I got pretty close only had 3 items left to grab but they were stuck against big stars so it was gameover if grabbed them. I had similar problems with rushing to get stuff out and had some pretty bad bugs in my game.

Cool little game, my gf liked it haha.  I liked the art, especially the player rocket character.  Also, I liked how the grabber pierced through to grab multiple things in its path.  Made it more interesting and challenging. Good job!  For suggestions and make it more satisfying to play, I would add some particles with item interactions.  Please check out 'Europa' if you have free time~
