I am sure there are more nano-RPGs out there with a few words or less. Please share them here if you know of any. I am going to put all suggested itch.io games onto the list of examples. (I try not to use Twitter too much as a source, but I am happy to link to RPGs from other non-social media sites.)

In 2017 there was a challenge of writing a game with 270 characters, and I created a game called Warrior (with 53 words):

"Characters have 1-10 HP. Initiative is 0 or 1. Players in a duel cross hands, then call odds or evens with none, one or adding up two hands. Each opened hand causes 1 DMG, and each closed hand absorbs 1 DMG. Winner gets +1 permanent HP and decides the fate of the loser."

Nice! I like how the use of hands mimic warriors sparring with their fists.

hey! Well, if we're sharing things we've already made, I make hyper-simple little, I guess they're ttrpgs although they tend to be a little light on the roleplaying aspect, paired with illustrations--in terms of size, this here is probably the smallest one that's actually any good (twenty-something words--i counted the # of words, but then I forgot while typing this comment >_<): https://lizziesmithson.neocities.org/Zines#135

game jam sounds fun! I already have some vague ideas of stuff i'd like to submit, I hope that doesn't count as cheating lol

Those are really cool nano-RPGs! I love your 24 Bad Games series!

I added an extra section in the rules today to say that it's fine to have an idea, as long as the project is made on itch.io during the jam period.

Glad someone liked that one lol--Thanks!

There is something similar I would recommend looking at, called micro-fiction where the entire game is text based with 280 characters or less: https://microfictiongames.neocities.org/

Didn't see your reply before. I did add Micro Fiction Games Jam to the list after someone mentioned it to me on Twitter. :)

Just FYI that the link for Social Media Sigil Maker appears to be dead

Thanks, fixed it!

A few of Anna Anthropy's game poems probably qualify.

Thanks! Added it to the list.

I have a few written for the microfiction games jam, where each game fits in a single tweet! I use my Faery Ring one on the back of my business cards.

They are really cool games! They gave me the feeling of exploring the woods or going on a camping trip. :)
