The space station model is quite detailed, I had fun exploring it. The interior could do with some variation though. The sound of the airlock is really accurate.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I agree about the interior variety, it's something I wanted to work more on during the jam but ran out of time.

A very good game indeed. The movement is a bit sluggish but otherwise everything is ok. I would have liked the controls to be displayed because I didn't know how to shoot (I tried left-click and it didn't work).

Otherwise the game is cool!

Thanks for the feedback! I added controls to the game page, and you can press H ingame to show controls.

This is good! The realistic space station was great, the reloading mechanic even better (I'm a sucker for a reloading that's more than 'press r'). The one thing I would pick on was how easy it was to get lost. Like, of course- this is a space station, it's not gonna have funky decorations to make every room distinct, but (for example) color-coding rooms would help. Like "I got to the room with yellow stripe in the middle from the room with a red stripe. If I get to the room with a red stripe again, means I got turned around".

Overall, though, great work!

Developer

Thanks glad you liked it! I agree on getting lost lol, I wanted to have a bit more variety in the level art to make each module a bit more distinct but I didn't have time unfortunately.

great work. really enjoyed this. the hard light and shadows do a lot to sell the look. love the props. the UI feels really diegetic despite just being text. the velocity UI element is great.

I totally feel like the shotgun should push you back. seems like it would be a great feeling? maybe you could also have some resource management with the flashlight battery. oxygen and propellant were great but I didn't find myself caring too much during the game -- but that's fine and probably intentional.

I really liked the reload interface, which reminded me of a stripped down receiver. when engaging enemies though, I never felt like I was taking any real risk. making that more impactful I think would go a long way.

in-world text was great too. awesome job!

Thanks! I was planning on the shotgun having pushback but it got bumped to the bottom of my todo list towards the end of the jam haha. I'll def be adding it. And I intentionally left the oxygen and propellant high because I didn't want the jam version to be too difficult and I was mostly looking for feedback on the movement and shooting. I should probably add some enemy variety too to up the difficulty. Thanks for the feedback!

This reminded me of Prey's zero gravity parts, the atmosphere and sound design are really great! The visuals of the environments are also nice to look at, and the reload mechanic gives you the feeling of scrambling for shells, especially if there are more than two enemies. I wish it was a bit longer, I enjoyed my time with this :)

Good work!

Developer

Thanks! I made it shorter because I usually over scope when I do jams, only realized halfway through that I could have made it longer lol. I definitely plan to do some more with this idea!

Unusual visual of the game

Love the hard sci-fi vibe here. You establish a very strong atmosphere very quickly with the message log, sound effects, reload mechanic. Could see this spun out into a bigger game. So much potential for different environments (inside, outside, small satellites, large derelicts, etc.) and stories. Very nice entry.

Developer

Thanks! I'm really happy with how the sound effects and reload mechanic turned out, especially since I've never done audio editing or animations in my games before lol. I definitely would like to expand on this.
