Nice job with the game! Was fun to play! Good luck and keep it up!

P.S. - If you could rate my game, I would appreciate it. If not, could you rate some games in the “least rated” category to help them out?

Hey bro

Great game and cool idea

I really loved the scene in the beginning

gameplay is great but there's glitches in aim system

like I can't aim down

also I can't cancel aim while holding squire I must throw him to cancel

Overall, great game and good experience

GO ON BRO!

Very good game, could you please rate my game https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-8/rate/1680919 ?

Pretty fun to play, and I liked the main game mechanic. Fun to play, good work! Do you mind rating my game when you get a chance?

BAHAHAHAHA! I laughed so hard playing this game! xD

Made it all the way to the end but boy did some parts were hard! As a lot of people, I really struggled on the rotating blades, but made it through anyway, and then the part where to have to YEEEEET the little guy at the top and then jump over the spikes was very finnicky and I spent a LOT of time just waiting for the moving plank to comeback. Maybe have the plank reset if I die so I can retry right away?

Other nitpicks: I REALLY which the aiming was based only on the mouse position! Let me move left but aim right, pleaaaaaase! And let me have a full range of throwing directions too!

But I'm just being picky, I really liked your game, its cute story and graphics.

With my nitpicks above fixed in some way, I would gladly play a longer game with this mechanics, well done!

Really loved playing all the way through, one of the most enjoyable jam entries for sure. I'd happily play a full game of this concept. Has some strange difficulty spikes, but on the whole since the experience was so good I was happy to push through them. Great work!

Oh boy it is a bit hard, especially the first two rotating blades. But other than that, I really enjoyed yeeting my squire, really cool gameplay idea and graphics :)

I really like the game play, its a great idea on the theme.  I'd like to see some visual component on how much health the boss has left. This was an amazing entry for the jam, thank you.

Good work! Keep it up!

This was a really fun game, I liked the cutscenes and the idea is really creative. Only thing I would change is maybe the player movement a bit. And also i had some trouble with the part where the squire has to go under the blades. Besides that it is great.

I got a nice laugh out of handling the squire in this game, and appreciate the little details of polish that made it in even with a game jam time frame. And I'm glad to see that I wasn't the only one to do something with slightly twisted humor in a medieval theme around "You're not alone".

Developer

Thanks! Can't wait to try Your game!

This is very fun to play, an interesting mechanic, and it's cute how the squire follows you. The music is good too
I think the camera should be bigger, because sometimes we can't see the other side of the puzzle. Regardless, it's a good game! Nice work!

Developer

Thanks, glad You liked it!

This game is awesome! The way the squire follows you and jumps around on his own is very well done.An ambitious thing to do for a jam and so well executed. Another favorite for sure.

Developer

Thanks, very nice of You!

probably the most fun I had with a game in this jam!

I enjoyed how the squire followed me and jumped after me, just found that super cute, and the throwing mechanic is funny and enjoyable! although a bit stiff sometimes, it felt sometimes like the gravity is too strong and I expected him to go further than what he did.

but overall i had a lot of fun! and as you said, I did like him. :)

Thanks, I am glad You enjoyed the game!

I thoroughly enjoyed throwing the squire like a nerf football lol and the sfx on impact was clean! Great job!

Cool game, I enjoyed the trickiness  and the fact that you could throw the other dude was cool. Something to improve on is the testing and polish. A great game overall, what a good submission. If you would be so kind to rate my game, but its entirely up to you :)

Really excellent! Never have I had so much fun throwing a loyal servant on to a pit of spikes!

Developer

Haha :D Glad You enjoyed it!

This game is amazing. The puzzles were tricky and I love how the knight holds the squire it's so cute. Definitely coming back to finish playing the game.

Congrats on finishing your game! This is really nice :)

I loved the core design here - puzzle platformers are one of my favorites. And applying the theme with a little bit of twisted humor was a great take. Here's this heroic knight used to fighting on his own forced to have a partner - so he sacrifices him at any opportunity. Great character development tied to gameplay.

Like any jam game, I think this game just really needed more testing and polish. Some of the timing based puzzles felt a little finnicky and/or overly punishing. In particular, guiding the squire through the spinning blades was a bit frustrating. I wonder if it would have been better to have an option to just take control of him instead? Character swapping style? Also, the final boss was a fun take on a boss battle, but it just took way too long. If there's no HP indicator or dedicated combat system, the only "good" numbers are 1 or 3. I couldn't tell if I was actually doing anything or progressing the fight.

Overall, very well done. I enjoyed my time with your game. Keep making fun games!

Developer

Thanks a lot! I am very glad that You liked the game and the 'plot'.

I tried to make the game less punishing by adding frequent checkpoints, but I agree that the guiding could be easier. Although I preferred to keep the knight as the only player for simplicity.

The boss takes whole 12 hits to die, I guess I didn't want to make the fight short and I went too far on the HP. He starts attacking faster when he is on low HP and the hit sound gets higher pitched after every hit, but its probably too subtle to notice.

Thanks for the in-depth feedback, I really appreciate it!
