Medley

Description
To do this, I used Cakewalk, and the plugins seen on the screenshots. I had a lot of fun doing this! Though I kind of had to rush it because I started a little late, but I still loved doing this, and also liked what I came up with.( most of it.)

Hah, this is cool! Man, the Zeal theme is one of my very favorite pieces in VGM history. Still gives me chills. Schala, too. (and HELL yes Chrono Cross reissue, I've been waiting for that for a decade!)

Developer (1 edit)

A whole decade? Damn, and I thought I had been waiting for long!

Oh yeah, I came here earlier to review your entry! I got distracted by your Chrono Cross comment lol.

As you are now aware, I'm a huge Chrono series fan. My last pastime jam was Chrono Trigger also!
You picked out a great selection of tracks. There are so many amazing ones to choose from, you can't really go wrong. Your songs had great transitions. Also you really nailed the original sound but still having it feel unique. Ending on 'Chrono Trigger' was a great choice as well, really leaves you reflecting on the rest. 8 songs is alot to cram into one jam, so kudos on getting this all together in time! Nice job!

Developer

Thanks! Yeah, this game has so many good songs, I struggled to decide which ones to put in. I would've added more if I had the time and energy for it.

CHRONO CROSS REMASTER WOOOOOO

I just saw this too! I am sooooooo hype! Chrono Cross is brilliant and beautiful. I have the physical CD soundtrack as well as the recent Blu Ray concert they performed for the anniversary. So awesome.

Developer

That's so cool! I've wanted to play this ever since I finished Chrono Trigger, but I've never been able to, because it's on the PS One. It being on the switch is a dream come true. (And remastered on top of that!)

I haven't played the game, but this sounds nice. Good choice of instruments too, sounds consistent.

This is an awesome medley! The organization of your tracks is very impressive. You strike a nice balance of energy and laid-back vibes that keeps the momentum going all the way straight up to the end. My favorite moment is the pan automation you use in the fourth song to make it seem like the chimes are rotating around the listener - love it! Keep up the great work!

Developer

Thanks a lot! I also love those rotating chimes, they were my favorite thing from the original track.

Really nice medley, got some lovely transitions in there, real smooth. Nice use of labs and the built-in instruments here.

Amazing medley! Seeing Cakewalk brings back so much memory.

This was fantastic, one of my favourites from the jam so far!

I really love how you mixed together the realistic sounding instruments with the more synthesized sounding ones, those pitch bends took me straight back to SNES-era soundtracks :D Also the fact you were able to fit eight(!!) tracks into a seven minute medley and still keep it flowing well is seriously impressive. Well done!

Developer(+1)

LOL I think this game made me addicted to pitch bends. Thanks for the comments!
