Thanks for the in-depth feedbacks, it's very appreciated !

We learned from the previous jams that the difficulty needs to be right, since, like you said, we have so much games to play. When we hit a wall, we simply play something else!  But at the same time, it's fun for the more hardcore gamers.

I've had my own share of balancing issues in previous jams as well - I could never get it right, my designer blindness was preventing me from seeing the perspective of the player, that's why playtesting is super important as well. Having two difficulties, not more or less, it's something that I think it's just perfect for a game jam.

Fine tuning that flow between comfort and challenge is what makes a game so intuitive - It's not just about the graphics, the sounds and the story, but how the gameplay combines all of these pieces together - Without it, there's no fun. To me, that's the most important factor in a game: How much fun it provides. I'm still trying to study this and how to actually implement in my own game jam games...
