Description
An adventure/platform/puzzle game that takes the player through the soul searching journey of its protagonist, a blind girl who imagines the beauty of seasonal changes through her imagination. One day she is magically drawn into her seasonal worlds and sees them in vibrant light and colour. Through traversing the landscapes and solving puzzles, she will discover truths about herself that will last forever upon returning back to world.

The main theme would likely play out in most sections of the game, with the world transition theme being heard when moving onto the next level. When puzzles are approached the puzzle theme would likely loop, however in this instance it is heard with a fade as this is what the player hears when the puzzle is completed. The last tracks plays over the final cinematic of the game and the credits.

Firstly, I wrote the main theme on Musescore then transferred the midi into Reaper and then adapted the notes to create the finished music using VSTs. The remainder of the OST was created through variations on the motifs within this main theme.

Message from the artist:
I hope you enjoy these four pieces, thank you for listening.

Theme:

Story of Seasons
Picture theme

How does it fit the theme?
The instrumentation often suggests certain seasons, like the bells in the credits suggesting winter and the pizzicato strings and guitar suggesting the lightness of mid-spring. The mood of the main theme is ruminative which was inspired by the dark space the girl is enveloped within in the picture.

Lovely ambience. I like the back and forth between tension and relaxation - gives the feeling of a story unfolding. And pleasant to listen to. Nice job :)

Oooo, nice. I'm into that equal parts beautiful and unsettling string work on A Light From The Dark.

This score deserves more ratings! It's got a lot of haunting texture, great atmosphere.

There's a wandering quality to your compositions that makes them interesting to listen to all the way through :) Great work!

Moody, atmospheric and a bit creepy too! I guess it would be awesome for a cutscene in a game.

Developer

Thank you, I'm very happy with how the overall atmosphere of these tracks came out in the end.

This is great! Nice and moody as others have said, love the textures in Seasonal World Transition

Developer

Thank you for this, since there was a lot of looping on the seasonal world transition I spent some time considering instrumentation and texture. Glad you enjoyed the result.

This is delightfully dark and moody, and your themes come across pretty clearly. I dig it!

I can almost see this minimalist/moody OST belonging to a mobile game maybe, a little like Monument Valley or one of the other good puzzle ones with no microtransactions... Enjoyed it a lot.
