i didnt expect the game to have all the elements that it did. I just thought it was just a slide in the woods. Also loved the pt inspiration behind it with the loop
This is one of the better examples of taking a simple idea and making the most out of it. This game has a very consistent motif and a very effective atmosphere. Something I particularly like is that the atmosphere doesn’t come suddenly; it gradually lowers you into it, using little tricks to create tension, both subtle and blatant.
After an initial setup period, the game establishes some very unusual movement mechanics which are clunky in that way most beneficial to horror games where it makes you feel like you’re in an unusual situation and having to use your wits to quickly get out of it. Little touches really help this game during these segments, like being able to hear your heart beating. One trick that I liked in particular was (small spoiler) establishing that the flashlight only has “some” battery left and then having it flicker at the worst possible times.
Having established the atmosphere and a weird mechanic that you have to get used to, the game uses a simple set piece to establish just the tiniest sliver of context before throwing you into an agonizingly tense escape sequence that’s designed specifically so that you can never be sure that you’re actually getting away that goes on just long enough for your confidence to waver before it sticks the landing.
I simply can not recommend this game highly enough. It’s short, immersive, exceptionally well-paced, and dripping with artistry. As soon as I’m done writing this I’m going to tip the developer for a job well-done.
I really liked this game! There's a lot of horror games that are mainly focussed on jumpscares and I really like that this one didn't do that! It made great use of sounds and subtle visual changes and that can truly make the player think they're going insane.
I love the concept of the game, the game ran smooth, I didn't encounter any bugs, audio was great, the chase in the slides was terrifying and of course the monster itself truly disturbing.
Short and sweet horror game. Actually way more unnerving and terrifying than I gave it credit for, and really captures that weird bleakness many older games had. The monster was worth running from too, and good job with the sound :)
I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed playing this game. I'm a fan of the PSX graphics, the spooky music, and the monster itself. The only thing I couldn't get a hang of was the crawling function, but I think that was just me.
Incredible Game! I know it has been on the top list of Itch for awhile and now I can see why! it just got crazier and crazier as things went on XD HOWEVER! I, the self declared king of CHOCCY MILK was able to fight through the depths of hell and survive another day!
The most terrifying part about this game is after playing through it and being thoroughly disturbed, going to the comments and realising there was a visible monster in the game that you never even saw. Awesome game, 8.5/10.
It's the first game in the 3 Spooky Games compilation of mine. :) This was a very unique game, I loved how different it was in comparison to so many games out there today. The crawling effect really made things all the more terrifying! I hope to see more games from you!
It has a very SCP vibe to it. It's a slide but everytime you go down it more madness ensues. The pixelated style add to the unsettling aura of things and the vent crawling section definitely gets you tense up. It's also mysterious and makes you confused in the latter part of the game, but that's part of the appeal of it. The downside is the ultimate scare is kinda cliche, I'll give it a 7.5/10. I really liked this! It reminded me a lot of a certain scp and i enjoyed getting to play it instead of read it. Very good game.
