How does your game fit the theme?
Thomas, like all phones was once joined to the hip of his owner. Now neglected Thomas decides to get revenge for being abandoned, though still linked inextricably to his signal and battery power.

I like the concept of acting as a phone and moving by vibrating! And the text messages are fun! The camera moves can be polished more because sometimes it cuts into objects, and sometimes it stops following. But I shouldn't ask too much for a 3D game developed under 48 hours XD. All in all, nice work!

Will reiterate what others have said in that I had no idea what to do until I checked the game page. That being said, it's a pretty clever idea once you understand what to do and how to play. I didn't have as much trouble tossing the phone around as some of the others, but I will agree that it's not as easy as it could be. The writing is nice and the overall presentation is pretty good, though the game's relationship to the theme is perhaps a bit weak. Overall, though, phone golfing is pretty fun!

I think with a little bit more hand holding in the beginning this has the potential to be really fun and humorous. I enjoyed the concept a lot. I'll be waiting on updates after the jam.

Try to include the controls and objective of the game in the game itself rather than writing it down elsewhere, it will make the game a lot less confusing. The controls were a little unrefined as over half of my attempts to move just didn't move the phone at all. I also got the phone half clipped into the floor and couldn't move at all after that lol. All things said, the concept is pretty cool and I think if you had more time to fix up the bugs and polish it more, it would make for a really fun game.

So, i had no idea how to control the phone and what i had to do, but i passed it on to a mate that had more luck with it. There is a sad glitch that sometimes the camera gives up, and you have to restart the game.  But I think for the right audience, the reaction and the comedy that can emerge from these kind of controls might hit the right spot.

I could not for the life of me figure out how to reliably get the character/phone to move when I dragged the mouse, often times it seemed to have as much contempt towards me as it has to its owner. This left me mostly swiping my mouse through the room like a madman. :D That notwithstanding I liked the idea for the game, even if not that directly fitting to the theme, and the presentation was very good with the mean text messages, score counting via reaction emojis and obviously the reference to Thomas was Alone. :)

The idea was to get to areas of signal in order to "score", send back txt replies. Sorry, theres info on the game page here: https://bbyford.itch.io/thomas-was-a-phone

We decided to make the areas of full signals non-obvious so you have to use the (hot and cold) signal stregth to guide you towards it, however you should see a faint circle when your close.

To move, click and drag the mouse in the direction you want to go, if you drag longer and hold down longer you go further :) Arrow keys to move the camera left and right.

And you can drag from anywhere it doesn't need to be from the phone!

Controls are a bit confusing, but the game looks pleasent.

The premise seems really charming but I couldn't figure out the objective.

Love the intro. Was a little bit hard understand what to do next and controls were confusing. like the idea and presentation.
