What are your thoughts? You can also talk about any other GameEngines(those 3 are the only ones that  I can).

I used all 3 of them. If you are a beginner then i would suggest you start with Unity. It has by far the biggest community, so you will find help on every topic you come across. Don't worry too much about the details of the game engines. You can develop nice games in all three of them.

Hey

If you are Building 2D Games , I cannot Recommend Unreal, but Unity or Godot will work a treat

I love unreal, but I barely understand it lol

in my opinion i like unity and godot

If you are doing 2D and its simple enough Construct 3 is worth checking out as well

i plan on using unity for the rest of my life lol

I think Godot is simple to use but a little limited, unity is a little too complex for my little brain to comprehend and has alot of tools to use. Unreal.... I don't know really :)

Nice. Great info from all of you! thanks!

I would use unity. It is good for many types of games (As long as your not making a AAA game :D )

for a jam I think godot would be best since it's just faster

Godot is lite as compare to unity and doesn't put much pressure on my system so i prefer it more than unity.

Plus it provides all functions of unity in its own ways.

same

Unity takes more than 15 minutes to open and there is lag in the play mode even though it is a simple scene (it is like this for my computer I don't know about others lol)  so I installed Godot a week ago and.......  I can just make simple platformer

so you use Gdscript or C#??

for Godot I use gdscript

nice

Unity has a huge community so i would prefer unity over the other 2 engines

Thats the only reason why i choose unity over other engines Lol :)

Unity that's all i know.

GODOT is my favorite engine. It's great for 2D and has a lot of great free extensions and templates you can use!
Languages: C# or GDscript (basically python-lite)

==========
GDEVELOP is useful if you are a complete beginner or don't know how to code. (It's like Construct, but free and open source).
Languages: Event-based, no real coding

==========
UNREAL is best for 3D. But exporting an asset-heavy build can take hours to a whole day. (Keep that in mind when scheduling your time.)
Languages: C++ or "Blueprints"

==========
UNITY...is like the in-between. It's less powerful than Unreal, but doesn't force you to either recompile the engine or use visual scripting. It's more complicated than Godot, but has better 3D capabilites. Unity has a lot of tutorials and *can* be good for collaboration (sometimes...when it feels like it). If you go with Unity, just make sure everyone is using the same version and tell everyone NOT to upgrade during the jam. (Sorry, I'm not a fan of Unity.)
Languages: C#

==========

And if you can't code or make art, you can use:

TWINE is an open source engine to make interactive stories. No code or art required! (Though you *can* do both as it loads straight to HTML.)
Languages: None required, HTML or CSS optional

wow

I personally like godot. it has a ton of things that I find really helpful, and I suck at the coding part so GD script helps a lot, but it can be a bit limiting at times compaired to other engines such as unity

can you please help me with a small script problem
