Animations and death sprite are super dope, great job there. Witch's mechanics were cool too. I thought the islands were a bit big for the speed your character moves and the size of the witches, but cool game nonetheless.

Thanks for the feedback!

The islands were going to have more “monsters” but I didn’t have time to add them. But as is, I agree with you.

I feel the way you constructed your level was very original. I didn't get at the beginning that the advancing of the game wasn't linear, but in the end, I got it. I liked that the witches had different designs and the art was pretty cool. Well done! I streamed it on my twitch, in case you want to watch it.

Just got a chance to watch the vod. Thank you for all the feedback!

I noticed you kept getting lost when you went the the islands, so I could have made that a little more clear where to go

The attack animation is on one side only. But the mechanics are nice!

Developer

it is dependent on where in the screen you click.

As others have said the sprite work (especially death) is really nice :)

I like the use of different combat abilities, although I did find a bug with the dash ability that allows you to dash outside of the map.

I like the combat as well, although I wish the player's attacks felt a little bit more impactful, a hit sound and a damage animation can do wonders.

Overall, I think this is a great entry :D

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Unfortunately, time was not on my side this jam. I planned on adding sound effect, but only got the attack one in.
The Dash out of map bug was also noticed about an hour before submission, but the only fix I can think of was adding bigger colliders or scaling down the player. (since colliders were the size of a single tile)

Some good graphics for this one! Love the Death sprite.

I also really like the combat as it is - dashing around to dodge and hitting inbetween. Invisibility is useful too. And each witch has their own attacks to look out for.

I just wonder why there's so much space between each battle. You look for the witch, kill them, and then have to go back.

I think the game would be neat even in less space - more like an arena boss battle for each witch showcasing their spells. Because as I said, the combat felt real nice, maybe centering the game even more around it would be cool for a sequel or something.

Besides that, great entry! I had fun playing it.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! There is a lot of empty space because I was going to include smaller enemies, but didn't get around to it.

Awesome Concept ! , The enemies do take a lot of hits to kill, and it would be nice to see the levels a little more filled out but honestly it was a fun game ! love the animations too ! sprite work was excellent.

I wasn't able to get past the first witch ;( I liked the concept though and implementation of death in more of a story direction rather than mechanic.

Developer

You can go any way from the beginning. Which one did you try first? (they all have different mechanics)
