How was your experience with Mini Jam?
This was fun! It was my first game jam of any sort. I'm certainly looking forward to doing more.

Fun game! I spent some times trying to control the character but then it went smooth and I was able to make the tasks. Good Job!

Interesting idea! The game is really fun and I love how you decided to use the hell mechanic. I had a lot of fun playing it. It's also interesting to see someone else's first experience with a game jam cause this was also my first game jam :)

Nice game! I had a hard time controlling the character ahah, so I was very stressed when I realized there was a count down. I liked the originality of your concept too, good job!

Developer

thank you!! Yeah, I’m not super pleased with the controls myself. Tbh they were soooo much worse for most of the development.  This was the improved version lol

Heya, im doing videos for the games I play in a first playthrough format thing. I did get a little frustrated by the end to be completely honest. Thursday was really hard! I dont think I said it in the video but this is really good first jam game, especially since you worked alone. Good work!

Developer(+1)

OMG. Thank you so much for this!! I appreciate it so much! First off, I didn't feel like you were negative at all. It is all valid criticism.

I too wasn't super happy with the controls. You're right that it had to do with it being top down but 3D. I had to actually use physics forces if I wanted the rigidbodies and colliders to work properly. I really wanted to rework them again, but I was running out of time. Also I am SO SORRY that I left "esc" to quit in the game. I thought you were going to make it through and was super excited for you. I was heartbroken when it went to grey.

On Thursday you actually do only need to give out one energy drink, but it's to the person that says they're falling asleep. Afterwards if you talk to them they say something like "I really needed this. Now I can think straight." I really appreciate your perseverance pushing through on Wed+Thur. You'll be happy to know that IMO Friday is easier than Thursday.

I do think your points on randomness and objective feedback are also super valid. Those were both things I kept contemplating switching up, but as I neared the end of the jam, I decided to keep them how I had initially planned. I was also toying with the idea of making it more "Groundhog's Day" by having persistent data, but again, I just decided to push through with my original plan. I think those are all things that having had the time to have play testers would have greatly improved.

Again thank you so much for putting this much time into playing my game and giving it your feedback :)

Haha no problem, making this video was easier than it is to make games so its the least I can do. Im happy to hear I didn't come across as negative, last thing I want is to discourage people from jamming. Im happy to hear Friday is easier cause Oh boy Thursday seemed impossible. Although Thursday seems easier knowing only one person needs the drink haha.

This was a good first jam entry, Thanks for participating!

I had so much fun! I'm definitely going to do more in the future :)

what a strange and fun game! sadly i got stuck when i tried to reset tracys password i wasnt able to do anything when the admin password was asked and it kinda froze.

it was nice tho! :) i also liked the clunky controlls in combination with the time limit (very stressfull).

Developer

oh weird! I’m sorry it got stuck. I didn’t make it super clear, but when you get the keypad up you need to just enter the code on your keyboard.

I’m glad you liked it! I definitely tried to make it stressful lol

Submitted

oh i tried that, didnt worked for me. Maybe because i dont have a keyboard with a numberpad?

Developer

hmm. I might have to test again, but I was pretty sure I tested both ways. Thank you for the feedback!!

maybe just me being dumb^^

Developer

Not you being dumb! You were right. Apparently it only takes num pad input... my bad :P

Is it only Monday? When I get to the conference it just closes me in and time's up. Also I bought some water :D not thirsty any more.

Developer

if you can figure out the right combination you can make it to the next day! There’s a whole week! (Monday Solution: avoid the conference room. Talk to everyone else, and search the desks. Then buy an energy drink and try the computers.)

Interesting and original concept! However I felt like the time limit was a bit too short.

Developer

Thank you! I might look at reworking the time limit. It may have become a little too restricting.

Good game, too bad I couldn't play very well ...

Developer

Thank you! And sorry...

Nice concept, it's fun to try and figure out the objective for the day. I didn't like the time limit tho, since it limits exploration. If the desks weren't randomized, you could use different runs to figure out a perfect route, but currently it's just a matter of luck to see if you hit the right desk at the right time.

Developer

I really appreciate the feedback! The short timer and randomization were done to make it feel more like you were in a hell, but I certainly may have overdone it :P. Maybe I’ll go back and remove the timer, lengthen it, or have it as an option to turn off.
