This game has a lot of potential - would have loved to be able use the key and advance in the game :) I really liked the music btw, great job!

Developer

Thanks !

The dark world mechanic has so much potential, and the art and sound are interesting, sad there is no chance to put that great mechanic to use.

Developer

Can't be more agree with you. We almost finished and levels are missing. Was a matter of time !

aw I really wanted that door to work so I can get to more levels!   But I understand it's a first jam. :)  The dark world effect with the space bar is really cool. Music is nice! Could use a sound when picking up the key.

Developer

Yea! At least we should have implemented the door animation, as we already detected the end of level and we got the door sprites ! But the team did great job, hope we go further next time.

Really liked your music and SFX.

Is that a shader you're using to show the dark world when holding space? It looks cool good.

I couldn't figure out how to get past the first level but enjoyed the music all the same :)

Developer

Thanks @MrBundles !

Shmank#3021 did great job as sound designer, when implementing it, the game was much more immersive.

For the dark world switch effect, we used sprite mask, as you can found here : https://gitlab.com/Quantum_Martin/sprite-mask. Then we used the collision mask to make the player collide with multiple layers.

We didn't manage in time to produce multiple level. When you take the key, we detect the end of the level by "closing the door" but there are no animations here.

The week was fast ! But was a good first jam, as we learn a lot ! Hope we go further next time !
