Hey, great game! Really enjoyed this one and played a couple of times, though my best score was only a 5 :D. Although the random setup of each attempt meant that the game had lots of variation with each try, I would probably tweak it a little bit so that each attempt starts OK and then gets progressively harder.  Also, music worked really nicely with this style of game - what did you use to make the audio? :) Well done on a fun game!

Very good game feel and addictive gameplay!

Great simple design! Clear game objective, minimalistic visuals, and good audio. Nice work!

Pretty fun stuff! This ended up being my best score...

The look was on point! Flat minimalistic style with neat animations and effect, what's not to like. And the rainbow wipe effect was super satisfying, yet it also sometimes was disorientating and run ending at that. Only two things annoyed me looks wise. The first being the jittering when trying to jump up near a cross section of a wall and floor.  And the second and the bigger one was the not too great color selection (mainly contrast wise) of thise scheme...

Well I think the camera issue is kinda looks related also. I mean the fact how the camera was dragging behind the character so you could only see 20% of screen of what's to come when it should be the opposite. Sure, you could easily waste a whole week (at least) on just a 2D camera but doing a look ahead functionality isn't such a huge hassle.

The audio on the other hand was not too great. The music didn't really fit too well and got kinda repetitive. And the (almost) only sound effect got quite old fast too.

The game design, though very solid indeed, wasn't without any problems either. The difficulty was all over the place. I guess it comes down to the randomness on level construction. I guess more curated construction could work better. And have the levels be more equally balanced and have them still get tougher the further you go by adjusting speed for example. Another thing to do with such a level generation would be to design the levels with loads more "possible spawn points" which you could then toggle on randomly (for more much needed variety) or increasingly (for difficulty curve).

In its core at first, the game seemed like a quick reflex based "go up as fast as you can" type of game and I still feel that is what it wants to be. But sadly it punishes hard on rushing and rewards more methodical slow gameplay. It also has these huge waiting sections which are never fun. The following section is probably he biggest offender. If you mess up by just a pixel, you have to wait for the whole trip there and back again. Or if you commit to a bad pixel jump at the start, you're gonna eat one of the apples on the top and there is no way around it.

The following sections can be innocently deadly as well. The colored box not moving in the end was disorientating, maybe they should turn white once they won't move anymore or something. And it was way too fun not to jump against the box to climb, yet kinda easy to jump just a tad too early and and the whole run suddenly. No fun allowed! 😡

Anyways, good job! Fun game even though it can be very discouraging to start again after a good run which ended unfairly. Well of course it's always the fault of the player but so much random difficulty curve that it might as well be unfair. Also requires uncharacteristic amount of patience and memorization.

Thank you for such a detailed feedback.  Will work on fixing the difficulty curve.

Oh yeah, one thing I forgot to mention. It really annoyed me to have to click on the jump button between runs. Played the game with keyboard so could have worked with keyboard too.

Developer

oh yea that one :) will fix that. Thought about it later in the cycle but didn’t fix it. Again thank you for taking the time to provide the feedback.

Very fun and polished game.

I like the way it looks.

Looks like this isn't your first jam and it shows :)
