Aight, short sighted people. I was once like you in the previous month but, this rework is actually necessary to the game to standout and leave a new taste to our mouths.  The og content will be back to where we left off in a few months  and will have more backstory and gameplay too. The dev also asks players to decide what they like in polls. I found several games with the same graphics and story to this one and they're good but because of that, this game has to be different now to leave us in awe once again.

I guess everyone got different taste then.... I respect your opinion.

Enjoy.

Sorry bro, but this is an easy disagree for me. My main gripe at this point is with how he handled the whole art/nose situation. The remake's a bit necessary (specifically ONLY the mind control changes) and the new mechanics might be good, but we don't have access to them yet so who really knows?

Whether some of the mismanagement was on purpose or accident, barely even matters anymore. If you've been around for the past month then you surely know about him splitting the votes, the AI accusations, VPN drama, ignoring his players, and the vote duping all of which was poorly handled by the dev. All of which also caused this game to be permanently steeped in shit.

Your dream of the game being caught back up in a few months seems highly unlikely to me. He's going to have to write all the new shit, render everything, code the new mechanics, fix whatever bugs arise, and apply everything everywhere. Add on him waiting for whatever polls to end and that's easily going to take forever until its caught back up. The polls only really slow development down, especially if it's "Poll A" and then "Poll A Part 2" a week later.

And this game already stood out. It doesn't need to stand out even more. I mean, this thing has over 4,300 ratings for crying out loud. Finding an AVN like this with that many on itchio is incredibly rare. Like god damn, even what I consider to be some of the current top dogs struggle to break past 1,500. MBML, Crimson High, Cross Realms, Realm Invader, Superhuman, Wild Cats, Out of Touch, and Oppai Odyssey are all included in that. (Crimson High is a bit of an exception at ~900) But the others are all either at ~1000, barely 1500, or a decent bit over 1500.

Even ones like Cosy Cafe, Companion of Darkness, Lucky Paradox, and That New Teacher aren't even that close. (Admittedly, there's a whole bunch of other contributing factors that make this not the best representation of a game's popularity, but its the easiest one that your average user can make based off of information that's readily available to the public.)

Now enough with the name-dropping. The point of me mentioning ALL of those games, is that THIS game right here, Corrupted Kingdoms, WAS one of the most popular on this site. It already stood out. Trying to stand out even more risks being a HUGE detriment to the game instead, in fact, this page proves just that.

In the past 5 years alone we've even witnessed that happen to AAA developers. They constantly reach for and try to grab new audiences to sell their games to and it bites them in the ass. Their old fans feel betrayed by all of the changes. So you can safely bet everything you own that it can happen to small indie devs too.

Arc already achieved his goal, his game already stood out. Yet he decided to keep pushing and try to make it stand out even more. But what he didn't realize is that he was about to push his game straight off of a 500 meter tall cliff.

I wish I could upvote this twice. Well said.

I gotchu homie, consider my upvote your second one

I also considered this one of the best H-games on Itch. I have only 2 that stand higher and that is Genex Love, and HHG(Heros Harem Guild) of which both have had their development slowed to nearly a halt. I do give the creator some credit there has been mostly constant attention to the game page here on Itch, with it only just dropping the ball in the last year. But not once have I ever forgotten how unique Corrupted Kingdoms is to other similar games. The story is thrilling, all the characters are interesting, and I've genuinely been a little horrified of the that giant monster in the game. It's a great experience and it seems weird that it's all falling apart so suddenly

I'm going to copy/paste my reply to an earlier post. I'm not sure how long you've been following this game, or if you ever supported the SS or Patreon (I've been here since Patreon) but I don't think you understand why so many people here feel betrayed--- this is as short as I can make it, and still convey a tiny bit of what's really going on with all this...:

Do you know what nearly every one of the OGs (most of the contributors on Subscribestar) wanted? The old art style. Guess what wasn't an option in the polls?

Yeah, that wasn't hard, was it?

Want proof? The dev went from over 70% of his original numbers (pre Patreon debacle) to 41% in the last year. (That is, he got all the way back up to 75% of his original numbers (relating to income) on Patreon with the Subscribestar, after starting from nearly zip on SS and now he's back down to around 41%) You do the math... still think he went the right direction according to his supporters? That's a -45% kick in the proverbial balls-- I don't know if that's your idea of popular, but it sure looks painful from here...

Going further: know what would make the 'rework' go faster? Using the models he already had. He had to change the mind control content; we got that, and were unhappy, but prepared-- and supportive! We knew he didn't have a choice. Same with the engine; "spaghetti code" and glitches, etc... changing the engine was only natural-- once more, most of us were onboard.

... until we saw the new art. Look, go read the SS page, if you think he's actually listening to his players. Nobody liked the nose-- it only won the poll because the old models weren't even offered as an option... it was a purely 'Arc' choice.

We worked hard to keep Arc on Subscribestar after the Patreon debacle because we wanted him to keep the art and the MCs kids... otherwise, we would have been fine with him changing engines and trying to take the game to Steam YEARS ago (he had a whole discussion about it in a live stream on the Discord) HE set the goal needed to keep it, and WE made it happen. (seriously, read the SS-- he even made a little extra 'surprise' extra bit featuring the MC reading a book to all of his kids in the nursery about the evil Patreon that hated children... and how the community saved them all) Now, he literally changed the face of the game, and with it nearly everything we loved about it. He forgot everything he promised us.

No, he most definitely did NOT listen to his supporters on this one.

Proposal: put up a poll to switch back to the Legacy KK models, or keep the new KK models, and see who wins. It would have to be on a legit neutral  site requiring membership that blocks VPNs (no fake votes this time) with someone other than Arc handling the count-- someone ambivalent to the outcome. Old models Vs. New.

Care to place any bets on the outcome?

(+2)

说实话去除VPN我认为这并不合理,据我所知这游戏在中国也存在不少粉丝,而中国玩家想登录这个网站就需要VPN.......但我支持你的观点
To be honest, I think removing the VPN requirement isn’t really reasonable. As far as I know, this game has quite a few fans in China, and Chinese players need a VPN to access this website... but I do support your point of view.

(+1)

Ah... ok, that's fair.  Perhaps a free membership registration, or something similar, in that case. Something to help prevent multiple votes, and keep the outcome unadulterated.

aww the pedo is here gonna defend wanting to fuck kids?

Man, you really don't learn, do you, Josh?

"sjhshshshsh", "adwawsdaswa", "awdasqwwaw2", "josh234_josh_demon_god", "asuhdsuisa", "ahahhahahah", "the-god-destroyer",  "sadasdasasfsdsdf", and now "josh the itzsyther killer" (all the same cyber stalker)

I've said it before, and I'll say it again... well, I'll copy/paste, because frankly, you're not worth any more effort than that... and you're already blocked. You've stalked me (and several others) all over Itch, Zero proof of your bullshit accusation, and when I found out you were projecting your own sickness, calling you out accordingly, you insisted I provide proof. I have... and I've also stated this: I owe you no proof, and the rest of this post isn't for you. It's to show everyone else you've provoked, accused, and harassed (more than a few on this very page) all your various accounts you hide behind, so they too can block them and report them. Nobody here believes your bullshit, and nobody ever will-- and now they'll know exactly why you point that filthy finger of yours everywhere but at yourself.

You first, Josh. My proof is all over Itch.io, now, whether you choose to believe it or not. Stalking. Multiple accounts to avoid bans. False accusations, with a notable lack of any proof of your own, against many, many individuals-- all documented in your own comment histories across all of those aforementioned multiple accounts. Your conversation on R2 released. All of it more substantial than your disjointed and pieced-together series of snips of people I've never encountered on Discord or Itch. You first. I'm nowhere in your 'evidence'... which is so insubstantial you won't even turn it over to the real authorities (which I've urged you to do multiple times, now-- have you, yet?) and you know this... which is why you do nothing but scream into the void, and follow me around like an impotent little puppy-- utterly unable to do more than cry to people who are so sick of seeing your repetitive nonsense they just throw you on ignore the moment they realize it's just you on another profile-- have you noticed nobody actually takes you seriously? Do you realize that, when they read your comment histories, it's so PAINFULLY obvious it's the same screaming idiot they encountered before they automatically slap you on block, or just dismiss your bullshit out of hand? Every single profile you put up reads "blocked account" to me. I stopped counting at 9 (now 10) profiles, but I'm still stunned that you are such a sad, bitter little shit you need 9 fucking profiles just to get my attention... and here I am on the same one, utterly untouched by your false accusations, because MY friends believe me, and know YOU are so full of shit you need 10 fucking accounts to try to fool people into thinking you're not... and you can't even manage that because you make the same monotonous, repetitive, and utterly preposterous comments on every single fucking one of them. You're sad, Josh. You make multiple accounts in the hope that someone will listen, but it's not your accounts, Josh... it's you. They see right through them, because no matter the name you use, you're still the same pathetic little shotacon, with the same pathetically unintelligible 'evidence' that you throw at literally anyone that disagrees with your utterly indecipherable attempt at logical thought.

Go spank it to Mare, maybe you'll make yourself feel better about your shitty life hiding amongst your multiple profiles... I'm done wiping my ass with your ego, you fucking cumstain.

I'm sorry, no matter how much faith you have in the new project and how optimistic about it being good, you are straight up delusional if you think that the game is going to be back to the act three content in "a few months" when the entirity of the art is being redone, the whole thing is in a new engine, and the plot is being completely rewritten to remove the CENTRAL PREMISE. You couldn't get that much done in that time frame with a whole game studio on the job.
