Sorry bro, but this is an easy disagree for me. My main gripe at this point is with how he handled the whole art/nose situation. The remake's a bit necessary (specifically ONLY the mind control changes) and the new mechanics might be good, but we don't have access to them yet so who really knows?

Whether some of the mismanagement was on purpose or accident, barely even matters anymore. If you've been around for the past month then you surely know about him splitting the votes, the AI accusations, VPN drama, ignoring his players, and the vote duping all of which was poorly handled by the dev. All of which also caused this game to be permanently steeped in shit.

Your dream of the game being caught back up in a few months seems highly unlikely to me. He's going to have to write all the new shit, render everything, code the new mechanics, fix whatever bugs arise, and apply everything everywhere. Add on him waiting for whatever polls to end and that's easily going to take forever until its caught back up. The polls only really slow development down, especially if it's "Poll A" and then "Poll A Part 2" a week later.

And this game already stood out. It doesn't need to stand out even more. I mean, this thing has over 4,300 ratings for crying out loud. Finding an AVN like this with that many on itchio is incredibly rare. Like god damn, even what I consider to be some of the current top dogs struggle to break past 1,500. MBML, Crimson High, Cross Realms, Realm Invader, Superhuman, Wild Cats, Out of Touch, and Oppai Odyssey are all included in that. (Crimson High is a bit of an exception at ~900) But the others are all either at ~1000, barely 1500, or a decent bit over 1500.

Even ones like Cosy Cafe, Companion of Darkness, Lucky Paradox, and That New Teacher aren't even that close. (Admittedly, there's a whole bunch of other contributing factors that make this not the best representation of a game's popularity, but its the easiest one that your average user can make based off of information that's readily available to the public.)

Now enough with the name-dropping. The point of me mentioning ALL of those games, is that THIS game right here, Corrupted Kingdoms, WAS one of the most popular on this site. It already stood out. Trying to stand out even more risks being a HUGE detriment to the game instead, in fact, this page proves just that.

In the past 5 years alone we've even witnessed that happen to AAA developers. They constantly reach for and try to grab new audiences to sell their games to and it bites them in the ass. Their old fans feel betrayed by all of the changes. So you can safely bet everything you own that it can happen to small indie devs too.

Arc already achieved his goal, his game already stood out. Yet he decided to keep pushing and try to make it stand out even more. But what he didn't realize is that he was about to push his game straight off of a 500 meter tall cliff.
