For what it's worth I had the same problem as the OP. I looked at the calendar, thought "well, I don't see days, but most calendars I've seen start on Sunday, and went through the whole puzzle on that assumption. Took me forever to finally go back and reconsider that assumption and swap my last two names to finally make the rest of the remaining clues make sense. And then when I saw the hint from Merulon about the hint in the agenda, I went back and looked and was even more convinced I wouldn't have gotten it if I'd seen that. A New Year's Eve party on Sunday might have clued me in if I'd noticed that, but a New Year's Party? Is that a NYE party? Or a party being thrown on New Year's Day? Obviously, with the benefit of hindsight, it's the former in the context of this puzzle, but I wouldn't have assumed so.

However, that problem aside, quite enjoyed it.

Ahh I see. Thank you for this Feedback. It really does seem unclear then

Glad you're on top of this already, because I had exactly the same thought as clansing: I did see the hint about the New Year's party being on Sunday, but a party on the night of the 31st is (in my dialect? I don't know) a "New Year's Eve party"; something called a "New Year's party" sounds like something you'd hold on the day of the 1st.

(So it should just be as simple as specifying that it's a New Year's Eve party.)

That aside, I enjoyed the deductions and the clues!

Thank you for enjoying the game! We did debate exactly those wordings as you say as a team, and in the end chose to leave that clue as a bit of a 'tricky' or an 'aha moment' clue. But I suppose the feedback right now is that it makes more frustrations than 'ahas'. So we'll plan some updates to a few clues after the jam ends.
