this is because the tutorial is the on of the worst tutorials. you can't skip it, it's stuffy, boring, uninteresting and over-complicated, and years of history of game development and game design have never taught these devs to add a skip tutorial button. the game even doesn't encourage the player with almost anything either at the beginning or at the end, and the achievements are not worth it. it's funny, considering that in many things the game intentionally doesn't give you a choice of what to do and how to do it, forcing you to do routine monotonous things of no interest, no profit, NO FUN and when there is an opportunity for free exploration, it's simply not necessary because all the emotions were spent on the damn routine. this tutorial, which should maximize the player's interest, is the first thing to slow him down on his way to getting a fun from the game. no matter what you do at the end of the game day you don't get pleasure from the work you've done, I hope by the time of release the game they will transform it from fixing junk and collecting garbage game into a game about exploring space signals at last.

my day speed on 0.5 and difficulty option is normal or hard and this is ok. I love exploring, do game core stuff and do things in meditative game routine (like in dishwasher simulator) and I played two years in this game just to I see that gameplay becomes worse and boring. 0.8.2 was cool and this version despite its abundance of content and events, it is incredibly boring and stuffy. and it all starts with a tutorial that cannot be skipped. sorry if my opinion differs from yours but I really don't think the game is perfect right now. it's cool in some aspect but there are things about it that really piss me off.
Except they're still right because you can literally turn off or ignore the new things. You don't have to deal with tower decay, or the hashcodes, or the tape system, or anything aside from just the signals. The only thing that you can't avoid is the way you get signals now, which is faster and much more skill-focused rather than chance-based. And if *that* pisses you off, you can play 0.8.2 forever and quit whining.
then why would I play a game that doesn't have anything in it that I'm not interested in, because that's how the devs made it? LOL
no, no, no, the argument "go play another version" is inappropriate, if the game can't interest the player after the update, it's not the player's fault, sorry if my opinion doesn't match yours. I've played a bunch of different games and I can say that the game's management is bad and annoying, and the main gameplay has changed for the worse.
The tutorial can be incredibly brief and the latest update simplified it greatly. If all you want to do is start the game, you can just hit the red bubbles and finish it in less than five minutes. You can ignore the signal collecting & processing tutorial completely even. But the game gives you the option to do other parts of it as you progress if you aren't familiar with them. It's on you whether you care to do them.
What you're wanting is a tutorial that both encapsulates all of the controls, physics interactions, things you need to keep track of, and systems for doing your job while being incredibly brief. That's just not possible.
The rest of this comment is just frustration with the game not zoning in specifically on what you want it to. The main drive of the game is exploration and doing the central task of the game. You can absolutely ignore that task and do other things, if you want to garden or manage bitcoin miners or decorate or go caving or diving or whatever else. Or you can turn off every other system that could possibly make you get out of your chair in front of a computer scanning for signals.
The game is completely open to whatever your whims desire. It's on you to find your own fun.
Listen, if you like it, I'm happy for you. I don't like the part of the latest updates, it's the part that really spoils the gameplay. I'm not interested in arguing with you because I've been playing voices since version 0.7, for a long time, and I've played enough hours to see where it's cool and where it's not. With the latest update, the atmosphere of some kind of lightness and fun has disappeared from the game, if someone hasn't seen it, I don't care, I'm not responsible for the experience of other players, as they are not responsible for my experience. The game is beautiful, but not without flaws.
if everything suits you, then you can go on playing and not interfere with others to calmly explain that they don't like and speak out.
Yeah. I've been waiting for the 0.9.0 stable release... And now all I can think of is "ohh right, I'll have to do those chores to no end when literally nothing happens around, no thanks".
I can't justify it from the chilling angle either. Why, the chores! They became an even bigger hurdle with those floppy disks and mini games. I just can't spare enough mental energy to muscle memory everything the game has to "offer" now after otherwise mastering pre-0.9.0 builds.
On paper, the gameplay loop is well built. In practice, it's frustratingly unrewarding.
