How does your game fit the theme?
You are trapped inside of a cube, which uses non-Euclidian geometry to fit an impossible amount of space inside it. In order to win, you must get outside the box.

This game was very impressive considering the time frame, and I had a blast playing it. One complaint I have with the game however is the fact that enemies will sometimes clip out of bounds, resulting in a softlock. that being said, I did genuinely enjoy the game a LOT.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Super happy you enjoyed it! Strange that out-of-bounds was causing softlocks, I added death planes outside the cubes, but for flying enemies I guess that can happen. I've seen it happen to the boss. There are some cases where you really have to track down the last enemy, though, particularly in levels 5 and 6. Glad you had fun!

I only really had a problem with the flying enemies specifically on the big circular room, and once with one of the small guys when I stepped on them. I really enjoyed your game though, keep up the good work.

Very impressive, it is discombobulating

Developer(+2)

good. be discombobulatized

(thank you for playing!)

Ok I'm not going to rate this game because I'm prity shore your spost to shoot the floor in the very first area and something on my end is not letting me shoot I don't know why but I can't, all other mouse things work just not shooting. I tried going out and back into the game and even reinstalling it just did not work. So I'm going to try again later which sucks because this seems like a really cool idea and fun game.

Developer (1 edit)

Huh, that's strange. Maybe your mouse isn't capturing into full screen? Also make sure you're not up against a wall weirdly, bullets physically come from the gun's muzzle. Thank you for trying it, though!

really cool! the system feels really smooth and there wasn't any bug that i encountered with it. some feedback that i can give is to add checkpoints and add more ways to heal and to fix bullets interacting with the walls because sometimes when i'm next to a wall and try to shoot my gun it doesn't fire. still, this is a fire game 10/10.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing! No checkpoints was an intentional decision since a full run is only about seven minutes. It's meant to be sort of like a Rec Room quest, admittedly more weapon variety would help that haha. And bullets physically originate on the muzzle so sometimes they hit walls weirdly. Glad you enjoyed it!!

The game crashed as soon as the enemies started to spawn my PC cant handle this masterpiece

Submitted (1 edit) (+2)

Recently my GPU stoped working so i had to remove it thats probabally why i cant play it

Developer(+2)

Yeah a GPU might help lol, every enemy has several shaders that allow for visual correctness in portals, thanks for trying it though!

Very cool game, the whole non-Euclidean system with the seamless portals is very impressive, I would love to see a full Ultrakill-esque game out of it. I'm still astonished that you got the pathfinding working through portals, that must've been quite the headache!! Amazing submission!
(Really rad to see another boomer shooter jam around here :3)

Developer(+2)

Thank you for playing! The portal pathfinding certainly isn't perfect but it works convincingly enough lol. Might make a full steam release out of this too someday

Game is quite creative, I like it!

Thank you for playing!

I really really like this game's music, really adds to the vibe of the game

Also the concept is sick

You could say it takes up a MAD amount of SPACE in my list of favorite games so far :3

Developer

Thank you for playing!! I’m really happy with how the music came out :)

Movement feels slick, the non-euclidian level design is really cool, and once the soundtrack gets going it's really good. I will say that I wish there were checkpoints after each wave of enemy as going all the way back through things can get pretty demotivating, especially when it's really hard to tell if there's enemies spawning behind you, but damn this is one of the more underrated games of this jam

Developer (2 edits) (+1)

Thank you for playing! The lack of checkpoints was an intentional design decision given that a full run takes only about seven minutes. The intent was to make it sort of like a Rec Room quest, where you get better and better at the beginning and the late game becomes highly intense. If I make a full steam release (beyond the collection), there will be branching paths and more weapons for more interest and variety. And better spawn telegraphs - one thing I wasn't able to get done was spatial audio, since that would require a much better portal pathfinding system than I was able to implement.

Really slick take on non-Euclidean level design. The way spaces loop and unfold keeps the arena feeling fresh. The movement and healing loop feel good too.

Developer

Thank you for playing! Glad you liked the design!

The movement was smooth and the healing was a great mechanic, but the gun was difficult to aim, I'm probably just used to more forgiving games though. This was fun and enjoyable and I had a great time playing! Keep it up!

Developer (4 edits)

Thank you for playing! The healing mechanic is one of my favorite parts :) Happy you had a good time with it!

Submitted(+1)

That was some mad space man, nah but jokes aside the combat is smooth and fun.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

me when the space is mad

(Thank you for playing!)

a good time, the music is great. the movement feels really nice and the non-euclidean stuff is implemented really well. im not good enough at boomer shooters to beat it, but its still a good time!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

The music and concept is really cool. I love non-euclidean geometry, especially in shooters. That part of the games is executed perfectly. However I'll admit, the gun you use feels really weak and hard to aim. (I believe this is because it seems to be a small and fast projectile as opposed to something like a hitscan weapon, which is instant). Other than the gun, the game is really fun and I love all the non-euclidean geometry!

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you for playing! This is the first shooter I've ever made, so gunplay is new to me, but I still like how it turned out fairly well. I'm glad you enjoyed it!!
