How does your game fit the theme?
There are multiple ways:
1) The player has to think outside of the constraints of Top Down Gameplay by factoring in the Wall Merge, which puts them on a 2D plane - they have to think "outside of the box"
2) When wall merging, you have to be placed "in" a box, and then by unmerging, you are "outside the box"
3) In Metal Gear games, you usually hide inside of a box to avoid enemies. I take the box out of the equation, thus its "outside the box".

Very fun game! It's like if A Link Between Worlds and Metal Gear fused into one. Very enjoyable time, loved the 2D sketch of the protagonist when they were in the wall especially. I can see this having a lot of mechanics that play off the core mechanic in interesting ways - like walls having spotlights on them that make them impossible to sneak past when 2D, or having push-able blocks that you can push together or apart to make new or destroy paths accessible in 2D. Would love to see more.
Very fun game! I enjoyed the mechanic of wall merging a lot. The angle of the camera was a little difficult to work with at times, but the shifting to the 3D world was very smooth and nice!
i really like the idea! really enjoyed the game! as mentioned by the other commenters it would have been better if the art style felt connected in any way, other than that i really enjoyed the puzzle great job!
the game was so good but the cammera made me dizzy and i really liked the art of the character but ididnt like the 4 compleatly diff art styles in the game:)
This was a really really fun puzzle game! Its really elevated by the depth in which you can utilize the mechanics. Solving puzzles by merging into the wall was fun but the major highlight for me was when I started distracting, stunning, and even killing enemies. Really great project!
I really liked this game, it reminded me a lot of a blend of metal gear and a Link Between Worlds. The game play was simple enough to grasp, but not so easy I was flying through every level. The sound design was really great as well.
I think one thing you could consider in the game play would be collectables or something extra in the levels that are more challenging to obtain and optional just to break up the game play a little bit so it isn't just point A to point B.
Overall it was a fun time and I think you did great
Really cool mechanic and I think the project can be explored further! As others mentioned I think having the 2D and 3D version of the character be more similar would add more cohesiveness.
Nice! How did you make this?
The wall merge having a "energy bar" really ties up everything and forces the player to be careful with their wall merges.
One thing - I wish that the enemies moved faster and you had a longer recharge between wall merges to force the player to have more "vulnerable time"
Thanks for playing!
I was inspired by the Wall Merge mechanic from The Legend of Zelda: Link Between Worlds, and I followed a video by Mix and Jam where they recreated that mechanic in Unity. From there, I imported it into my code and modified it to suit my needs. It's not 100 percent perfect, but it works well for the jam setting.
Very interesting concept! I never thought that Metal Gear and Paper Mario would make for such cool game!
The game mechanic is so cool and that art is great too!
Very neat mechanic, reminds me a lot of Link Between Worlds, tho there were a few times it would make me zoom off into space, among other things. I would like if there was a bit stronger of an indicator for when the guard is going to wake up after being knocked out, as currently you more or less just have to memorize the timing, especially if they're a little bit off screen. That said, great audio, and a very fun concept.
Really cool mechanic, the wall merging idea is super unique and actually feels great to use. It adds a nice layer of strategy, especially when planning movement around enemies
The gameplay is smooth and engaging, though I did find myself wishing for a bit more visibility or information when coming out of walls, just to plan better and avoid getting caught instantly
Overall really solid entry with a strong concept, I’d love to see this expanded further. If you get a chance, check out my game too, I’d really appreciate your feedback
Nice gaem
The main mechanic is pretty cool and unique and the game makes great use of it. It's very engaging, and the idea was executed well. The music and art are great though I wish the non-wall player was a model instead of a sprite to match with the NPCs. Otherwise, nice game, 4s and 5s.
I like the mechanic, I wish getting spotted wasn't an instant failure, though. Also, some of the NPC pathing felt unfair when you're trying not to kill any guards.
I Loved the concept and idea, this is too much good.
Very cool and unique mechanic. When you are on the walls I would love to be able to see more of the map to know if it is safe to get out, but overall awesome work!
It was really fun!!! I loved how smooth it was.
