Uh help with starting out

I've been making a big game for a while now and realised that it won't get popular without posting more different games! So I thought about taking parts of the game, reforming them and posting them as stand alone to get more attention, so to the more experienced ones around uh is  that a good idea? Oh and the game (which its demo isnt out) is this:  Project Redleaf (upcoming) DEMO by GIORGOSXAL

A lot of devs will release a demo that helps create an audience for the game before it's officially released. Creating dev logs can also help.

If you're set on breaking up your game into stand alone games, you could call the stand alone games "chapters" to make it obvious that they're part of something bigger (similar to what Poppy Playtime is doing)

It's not that I'm breaking up the game, I have an idea to use several mechanics in it differently and I also heard that it's best to make several small games before you make a new one, but I'm not certain you guys are more experienced at this.

It's true that I'm not an experienced game dev, but I have been on this platform a while as an artist and have seen what works and what doesn't work. That said, it sounds like you already have your heart set on a plan, so best of luck in your endeavors : )

My opinion:

Releasing small projects before a big commercial one can make sense, because it tends to increase experience of both what works from a game design standpoint and what might potentially be commercially successful - without having to spend many months on a large project just to find out it’s not what people want.

But if a lot of those projects involve simple reuse… the learning experience might not be exactly the same, possibly.

Ok, I understand but I thought about it for becauminh more known before releasing it.

Im sort of in the same boat.  I've got these big ideas, progress on each game has started.  But only 1 playable demo.  But not sure how to get interest in the main game.  Do I just keep doing Dev Logs?  Do ppl bother to read them if there's nothing to play yet?
The small demo is just a Universe teaser.  Its not the main game.
