You were a joy to work with last year (I was tempted to approach you this year, but ended up not doing so since you didn’t explicitly advertise) so I was delighted to see you had done some work this year!

…Until I read the descriptions. So sorry that your music went largely unappreciated due to cancelled projects, that really sucks. The one that did make it out was fantastic though; it fitted seamlessly into the world of Rubber Wizard and was a super chill experience for that point-and-click style game. Taffangora is my favorite of the bunch listening through now; the bell-like melody line is really pleasing on the ears.

Hope you’re doing well and congrats on submitting even if its not as large a collection as normal; I hope to see more of you in future Strawberry jams!

Yeah I’ve taken a bit of a step back from Strawberry Jam stuff for a few different reasons that I won’t get into here and this year I was definitely not feeling up to making a lot of music (I was actually planning on taking this year off entirely, after having participated in every previous year to some capacity), but I’m glad that a bunch of people still reached out for music all the same.

I think I need to get better about listing requirements before I’ll commit to making music. I want to be sure that the game’s creators have a chance at actually submitting something (even if it’s incomplete/prototype) and also that we’re on the same page about what kind of stuff they’re looking for, because communication was a big pain point this year.

Yeah, don’t have any shame in listing out those requirements, both in terms of communication and what minimum product you expect for the work. Of course things happen and not every person/team will be able to submit - life happens, and a lot can change in a month - but it really is the most respectful thing of your time and work.
(And it makes me sad that communication was that much of a sticking point in a year when you weren’t even supposed to be present. I hope the situations that caused this to be a down year have or will resolve! 💗)

It's very unfortunate that three of the tracks didn't end up getting used, but it's nice to hear them here. I liked how well "A Day at the Beach" fit this year's setting in Rubber Wizard. You've been making music for that series since the beginning, and it's really neat how the style of themes has a consistent flavor between the different games!

Developer(+1)

Yeah I really like working with Kageki! We have a good rapport and I’m always happy to make more music for the Rubber Wizard series.

Always a feast for the ears. Just a nice variety platter.

This is so chill. 4 tracks in 3 weeks is insane to me, very impressed by the quality and moods. These are perfect for laidback horniness. I think I recognised the first and last but I'm not sure, my music memory is trash.
Great work!

This is actually a pretty low amount of output for me from Strawberry Jam. :) But thanks for listening!

If the first one ended up in a game I’m not aware of it and I’d like to know.

Submitted(+1)

I'm pretty sure it was my memory then, rather than the music itself. I'll check out your work from previous years as well!

I love rating soundtrack I have so few buttons to push to listen to soundtrack and I know exactly how long it’s gonna take

Nice music as always! Shame that only one track made it into an actual game (which was the first game I played during rating, weirdly enough), but that is how jam goes, I suppose. I know in my case music was one of the things I did in the last 2 days of the jam. I had grand ambitions of composing myself but my experience is so limited I knew it’d take me days to get the handful of songs I wanted. I only knew what songs I actually wanted with about 4 or 5 days left on the clock. This was not my most organised jam.

But yeah, the music here rules, Rose is my favourite track but I liked the laid back vibes of A Day at the Beach too, very good music for pointy click activities.

Nice soundtrack, don't stress yourself out on things not working out as well as you expected for the jam? Do you have a YT channel? I'd love to add that first song to my playlist.

Developer(+2)

Thanks! My channel is https://youtube.com/@realfakesockpuppet although I haven’t released this album to any of the platforms yet. Usually I release on Bandcamp+Mirlo first and then YouTube comes a bit later (since it’s a bunch more effort).

Developer(+1)

oh yeah I posted it to youtube yesterday

Great, I'll go check it out then :)
