Hi, sorry for the late reply. Glad to see you enjoyed it! And yeah, I defintely intend to keep working on this, I already have a few new gameplay ideas a a rough draft for a fully-fledged story :)

Thank you for reviewing my game :) Yeah, I've had multiple reports of people noticing the lack of balance, I should have spent more time on this :/
You can definitely level up your dinos to compensate. Also, you do gain new attacks as you level up, but for this prototype, they only deal more damage and have an elemental attribute associated to them (like pokemon). No fancy multi-attack or other abilities, I didn't have the time to implement them (but i wish I did) >_>
Thank you! Glad to see another FF enjoyer!!!!
I get your feeling about the mining mechanic of FF, but as you said, not enough time. Plus I wanted to replace it with another mining mechanic from a game I love (Glean) but I definitely wanted to try it at least :)
And I definitely intend to come back to this and make it a complete game with a better balanced gameplay and better written story :)
As for the inventory, it's normal if it dissapear at your base, as it's added to your base's reserve in the cloning room, so you can deposit your stuff all at once and continue mining or clone dinos. It's not a bug. Maybe I should have added a tooltip or a message to make this clear.
Thanks again for your time :)
Hi, thank you for taking the time to play my game. I've seen the other comments and I did pass trough a balancing phase to try and get all attacks and dinos to an acceptable stat line but apprently it wasn't enough. I should've probably explained the colors are elemental resistances and weaknesses in combat, but I thought it was common enough to those type of monster tamin games that I didn't think of mentioning it.
Really cool game, I'm glad it was worth the wait. It's fast paced and fun, though the movement is a bit too sensitive while mid-air, which makes it a bit too hard to properly estimate the distance you travesrse when jumping.
The artstyle is really cute, the mare on mare action is really hot. A bit annoying to have to manually do the deed instead of just pressing one button and be done with it, but it's a minor gripe.
Good job on this one, I wonder if you'll iterate on it in the future :)
A bit short for a demo, but I like where the story is going so far, and I like the idea of being the mech instead of the pilot. As someone else said, a bit more contrast with the background would make the text easier on the eyes. The writing is solid, though it doesn't deliver much in terms of 'horny'. Still, good job regardless :)
Really hot honestly, the writing is pretty good for such a short game. I couldn't find the last playdate though, I don't know where it is. The sprite art is pretty too.
Don't stress too much if your game doesn't come out as you expected, at least you released something, which is better than my output last year >_>
I get what you're saying, but this was way out of the scope I settled on for this jam x) Getting just the basic combat system was a nightmare in a half, and I did plan to get a few more mechanics in (namely, the ability to change the formation of your dinos) but I didn't have the time and I really needed to save as much time as possible for drawing the sprites and making the game as pretty as possible.
Next time maybe? I do intend to push the idea of dino battling further in a future project :)
Damn, this is incredible. Gorgeous artstyle, the dynamic between the characters is really fun to read and believeable, and the gameplay is really solid. You should definitely turn this into a real thing later down the line, I bet it would sell incredibly well.
The only thing that didn't work out for me was the enemy placement, as some of them were clearly placed to be cheap shots you have no way of predicting. I don't mind difficult games, but chipping away at your life count just to have a semblance of difficulty is a big no. In contrast, the bosses are stupidly easy. I did die to them bc of the cheap sneak attacks, but after learning their pattern they're not much. I mean, that's fine, I'd rather take a game that's too easy than a game that's too hard.
But overall, this is an incredible job. Would love to see more in the future :)
Thank you, that's very kind of you :) I've heard many ppl complaining about the combat by now, and I understand. I didn't have much time to balance all the mechanics, so some dinos are too strong while others are too weak. You can level up and gain new elemental attacks, but I was afraid it would take a bit too long to grind before ppl would get sick of it.
I hear you about the sex scenes too, I always struggle with keeping my writing short >_> I tried keepng a good balance between context and text length, but it seems I failed in doing so :(
Cool to have a platformer enjoyable with one hand x)
The controls are smooth and precise, though I think having the checkpoints a teeny tiny bit closer to each other would have been nice. Not that the game is difficult, but it would avoid having to redo long sections we've already done easily.
Good job for a first jam :)
Cute artstyle, the game looks pretty for what little of the environment it is. I gotta admit I stuggled to get going because the instructions on the sticky notes were quite confusing. I didn't attempt to 100% like the others because I had some trouble understanding what to do and in what order to fuse certain stuff.
Thank you! I was scared to be the only one here knowing about Fossil Fighters. It's not as fleshed out as the original game for sure, my intent was more about mashing two games I really liked (FF and Glean). I think it came out relatively well, but there were many parts I didn't have the time to flesh out properly, like a settings menu or some gameplay mechanics :(
Hi! Thank you for leaving a review. I feared this would be the case for some players. I didn't want to be too handhold-y, so I had added some tooltips to help visualize some stats, and I wanted to do the same for some other stuff in order to have non-intrusive instructions, but I couldn't find the time to do so :(
Really really gorgeous game, and simple to understand and play. It's cool you've added a preview image to show what the characters look like.
The controls are a tiny bit too sensitive to properly navigate in the area. Another thing I had is I got softlocked in one of the houses because the monsters inside would block my way, and one of the golden keys inside the house wouldn't unlock the next door, so I can't reach the end if there is any.
But still, good job! And hopefully we'll see fully fleshed out version in the future :)
