Hi there, first of all, thank you soooooo much for this translation. I've finally had the chance to play all the available games and have been losing my shit (positive)

I was replaying it with a friend last night though, and have to ask about one translation choice

Final Root + Records minor spoilers ahead

Shouldn’t Shirotori here just be more literally Mr. White Bird, over making it a proper name? There’s no Shirotori in any material I can find, but there is the entire birds story going on in Records. There’s also a white bird in the final S+ ending scene which feels like it loses any importance it could have to the english audience by not catching Karen’s comment in this Root plainly. (Plus she’s 10, it’s not too odd for her to be calling animals Mr.Dog or whatever)

Again, thank you for the translation. I will trust your judgement in keeping it Shirotori if you decide to, but I felt like I had to speak my piece after Karen saying that derailed our playthrough for a bit last night as I wracked my brain trying to find a Mr.Shirotori hahaha

If I remember correctly, I think my original reasoning behind that translation choice was 'Shiroitori sounds a bit like Hatsutori, and that's who this is referring to, so maybe people will pick up on that easier if I leave it as is?'

I do think you're right in that it's unnecessarily confusing to an English audience, though, especially since there are mentions of 'doves' later on, so I'll change it!

I've been planning to put an update out eventually/somewhat soon (to fix various visual bugs like the Tina password + some issues with text escaping text boxes and certain symbols not displaying properly + a couple typos I've found) and this fix will be in there. Thanks for letting me know!

Yeah, I can definitely see the logic. Sadly the english language makes all the steps really convoluted. (Mr? So it’s a name? Just a capital S? So it’s a name or a proper Noun? Not capitalized? So what’s a japanese word doing here, also did they somehow typo hatsutori?). It’s a messy problem to solve!

No problem! Honestly, you caught me at a lucky time where I can actually implement the feedback instead of going 'yeah, I agree, but...'

I'm generally open to suggestions as long as they're reasonable (meaning, not things like 'why did you translate a character going iyada~ in Japanese to Noooooo! in English? It's a really liberal translation :/' or 'why are you westernizing this game by removing the Japanese quotation marks', or like "why did you 'make' this character say he needs to fill up his gas at the gas station because he's running out, all he said in Japanese was he needed to fill up the gas at the station....") so if there are any other suggestions you have feel free to let me know! I can't promise I'll be able to fix everything/incorporate all changes but I can at least listen.
