What a cute and fun game! I really like this concept of combining decorating your house as a lil bug with Frogger. Great visuals and you guys did a lot in a week, well done!

Feedback

  • great idea. very unique.
  • i liked the concept of working for the item
  • recommend more explanation of item pickup purchase system. something simple. specifically regarding the item being staged for pickup/money collection in the outside world. the wording is there, but i didn't get initially

Great jam game!

Cool remix of frogger. Game made me realize my materialistic impulses, taking me out to the rat race to get that matchbox bed I really want.

fun! kinda hard (but maybe its me haha) nice idea too, very unique, loved buying things to furbish up my place

I don’t think you’re the only one who found it hard could definitely tweak it down a bit. Thank you for playing!!

I am always a sucker for Isometric art. And the title and some of the humor like World Wide WEB were so on point! Great Game.

Thank you!

Very nice game! Using the bird shadow as an enemy is very unique!

The game was pretty cute, though I  noticed that I can use the wood to just swim away from the cruel world

Fair!! I should've put thorns around the edges in the Garden like I did the river.

I adore this game. It's super chill and very cozy. Bugbook is great, the UI is quite fleshed out for a game jam, and there's a ton of really excellent pixel art (impressive that you've added rotations for everything!). Also did not expect to have to play frogger to get my furniture, very fun.

I have one non-game comment, which is that your itch.io page settings currently make the game larger than my laptop's screen. I had to zoom out to fit the whole game in view.

Developer

Oh interesting and thank you for the comment!

We have the viewport set to 1280*720. Whats the resolution of your laptop?

Found the Bugbook marketplace a hilarious concept. Well done on vibes and gameplay, that's a nice start/restart for you folks, good work!

I reached the houses, but wasn't quite sure how I get the furniture from them!

Got to platform for a while though, and that was fun

Lovely art style too!

Likely you didn't have enough money! If you enter and re-exit your house, the pickups will respawn for you to build your bugbucks back up.

Ah I see, will run it back cause I kinda wanna be snug

the lady bug is so sweet looking! not entirely sure how I was supposed to get furniture though.

Developer

Yeah the pop-ups are supposed to clarify that but not the easiest to convey the info.  If you get across to the end-home and have enough money, you'll acquire the item then will be able to place it when you get home.

Hii!! This game was fun!! I may or may not have struggled during the crossy roads part (minor skill issue on my side     (ᵕ—ᗜ—) ). Other than that, the game is a lot of fun and is a great concept! The art and music were very well done! Great job, you guys!! ദ്ദി ˉ͈̀꒳ˉ͈́ )✧

Thank you very much! Definitely a little bit more on the retro games side in terms of difficulty.
