How does the game fit the theme?
The game fits the theme Strange Places by taking place in a surreal cheese world where nothing feels quite normal. The terrain is made of distorted cheese structures, enemies move in unnatural patterns, and the environment shifts during boss encounters. The exaggerated world design and looping progression reinforce the feeling of being trapped in a bizarre, unfamiliar place.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
All code was written from scratch during the jam.
All visual assets were created from scratch during the jam by Maryam, including characters, enemies, animations, backgrounds, UI, HUD, and menus.
The Arial font was used as a default system font.
Sound effects were sourced from online libraries.

I really love the art, once I saw the art I knew I had to play the game. 

It's simple yet fun and a bit challenging cos you have to time your attacks right.

Loved the style, really polished visuals, but I wasn't really sure what I was supposed to be doing bonking the enemies or during the boss fight but I still had fun!

I like the art!The gameplay felt a bit repetitive to me, but it's also possible it just isn't my style. I liked the use of SFX! But the art is by far my favorite part.

Wow, the art style is amazing! And the music fits so well with the artistic style. I love how you incorporated more than one background track to make the run feel new in a way.

I think for a game with simple mechanics like this, it could be satisfying to see some visual impact on the hits such as impact frames or freeze frames when hitting the rats or bats or cheese balls. I also noticed that the animation of the swing doesn't quite match with the mouse click input. Slow animations frames like this can make player inputs feel delayed and laggy. I think simply removing initial anticipation frame would fix this. 

For combat, it would be great if there were a downward attack. I find myself landing on rats more often than I'd like too. Darn rats! Simply being in the air seems to punish the player.

 Nevertheless, keep up the great work and love the art!

As a cat person, I REALLY like the graphics of the game. ITSSS SOOO CUTEEEEE!!! the hitting mechanism feels a bit difficult to time it correctly but the boss fight does make the game feel more interesting. Great work!

Hi

As others have stated before VERY CUTE.

I found myself squeezing the mouse tight, when I could not hit the flying cheeseball.


I can see so many cute cats with colour change.

I was almost surprised when i had 10 lives over 9 ;)
