I enjoyed the lovely Hololive Office renders, and the game does feel quite polished overall.
At first, the game started out rather slow, without noticeable changes, which made me feel like I was being pranked somehow. Later on, I managed to get a game over with 3 out of 0 anomalies found, which I found quite special.
I don't think I'm cut out for these kind of games.
Thanks for playing~! I misjudged the pacing at the beginning, so it took too long for the first anomaly to appear. Also, a warning voice was supposed to play when three anomalies persisted, but due to a bug, it did not trigger. I apologize for the inconvenience.
Got low balled with 6 anomalies but only managed to get 3... I'm not great at these games lol
I think you captured the vibe of Observation Duty pretty well, but I do agree that it does start a little slow, I had probably went 10 minutes without any noticeable changes, though maybe that was just my ineptitude for the genre showing. But otherwise I think anything else I had issues with was already covered by other players.
But I do think you did a good job with designing the areas as well, just cluttered enough to make it easy to overlook something new or something missing.
Good job!
Thanks for playing~! I also felt that the early part was a bit slow. There was a mistake in the time calculation.
I liked the intro!
The most obvious one was the poster image changing and the chattino appearance.
I found 8 out of 11 in my first try and it failed me.
For some reason the first time I got the "distortion" anomaly, even when I reported it as such it was not detected and stayed put (these are the ones that made me fail my first try). On my second run it was correctly identified and removed.
Pretty cool recreation of the original "observation duty" game!
Some improvement suggestions:
- The UI doesn't scale well on ultrawide monitor.
- The game uses a lot of GPU power. Consider capping the max frames per second or activating V-Sync. I forced it to run at 60FPS using NVIDIA control panel and the GPU usage dropped from 97% to 10%.
- "No anomaly" message is reversed. Mentions place instead of type and viceversa.
- The result count seems to be off or displayed incorrectly. My second run ended with "28 out of 26 anomalies" fixed. It probably was 26 out of 28? (see screenshot below)
- Would be nice to have a message warning when too many anomalies have not been fixed, to give the player a chance to look more carefully before a game over.
Good game!
Thanks for playing~! And thank you for sharing such a variety of feedback. There were many things I missed.
The game is a bit too slow for me as I waited for quite a while before an anomaly showed up. The game could be capped at 60 fps too, my GPU was making over a 1000 fps and was hitting 80%.
Thanks for playing~! I also think the early part feels a bit slow. And I forgot to set a 60 fps cap as well. Thank you for the feedback.
The numbers on the fail screen are backwards. Also, some of the categories feel weird. Like, why is a holomem in the HQ considered an "intruder" while a chat member in the HQ considered an "object"? Besides that I wasn't sure what counted as an anomaly. The water cooler and the fridge both have really weird lighting just all the time.
That makes sense as well. While looking for Hololive-related assets, I came across some listener objects. If there’s no animation, you can think of them as simple objects. The water purifier definitely does look a bit strange. Thank you for playing!
oh nooo, I've almost got it, the distortion bug killed me ;-; (in the Entrance area)
I love Observation duty so I enjoyed Timeline as well, even though it was less scary than the original.
btw i think I didn't get the time anomaly, how would it look like?
Thanks for playing~! Sorry about the bugs… I’m also a fan of Observation Duty, so I did feel that the scary elements were a bit lacking. As for the time anomaly, it refers to the issue where the time text shown in the top-right corner looks strange. Thinking about it now, it’s not very noticeable and honestly not that great.
Ran into the same distortion bug, but overall I really like. I felt the same tension from the original Observation Duty, so mission accomplished.
Thanks for playing~! Sorry about the bugs… but I’m really glad to hear that you felt the tension of the original game!
Hello this was a really cool idea!! I do wish it was a tad bit faster paced though, also i think i got a bug that made me lose :( In the storage room there was a distortion anomaly but it wouldn't let me get it, still quite fun though!!
Thanks for playing~! Because I was short on time, I couldn’t include many types of anomalies, and I set the required count a bit low, so it might feel slightly loose or less tense. And.. Oh shoot. You found a bug. I must have clicked the wrong thing and ended up putting them in the wrong order. Thank you for catching that, and thank you for the feedback as well!
Interesting take on the theme! I do wish it was faster paced though, it feels like nothing happens for most of the time and it takes a long time to reach 6 AM.
