I enjoyed the vibes and setup of the game, though I had to screenshot the commands from the start and have them open just so I could remember them.
Really cool concept! I’ve always thought a game that controls through Unix style terminal commands would be a super unique and interesting concept, and this game really nails the feeling of navigating the terminal. I do think adding clearer hints on how to find the secrets would be beneficial, since I think most players would already be having a hard time getting used to command line controls. Otherwise, I think this really encapsulates the aesthetic it was going for, and is a really original take on the jam’s theme. Great work!
I like the concept and visuals! Terminal games are a bit of niche, I do wish there were more of them around. Exploring to find undocumented commands that do weird things is a nice take on it
Really love the green terminal aesthetic and the eye made out of characters, it looks super cool. Sadly I got stuck on the very first screen with the camera icon and could only move the frame with the arrow keys. After a while the web build stopped responding in my browser so I had to close the tab. I might be missing something, but some clearer guidance or hints for the first steps would really help people get into all the weird secrets you planned here.
I don't really understand what you had to do in the game...
I've been moving from one place to the other without really getting a goal... Looks pretty cool though, despite a couple of typos :)
Yeah, sorry about that — I didn’t really have enough time to playtest it. And sorry about the typos, lol. You’re supposed to find secrets, ghosts, and other weird stuff with the help of the chat function, but I didn’t really communicate that properly. Navigating the terminal can already be kind of obtuse on its own so that probobly diden't help.
Anyway, thanks for giving it a shot!
cool lil terminal game!
Thanks!
Had fun was pretty cool visually!
Thanks! sorry about it being a bit confusing.
Only a little, mostly an issue of the screen not clearing when I would expect. I have dyslexia so that made it hard to read sometimes
