Fun spooky game.  I like the hiding under the bed to get away from him initially, though I think he maybe takes a little long to leave.  The ringing noise is also a little sharp, it could use some reduction on the high frequencies.

I really liked the lockbox puzzle.

EDIT: I wanted to go more into detail about what I enjoyed about the lockbox puzzle: it is a really good balance of esoteric and sensible.  There is a good natural hint in the interface of the lockbox that immediately had me looking for non-standard ways of finding a combination. I was watching a friend who doesn't much play video games play it at first- and she actually figured it out before I did; I think that's a good sign that it's well-crafted and not leaning too much on established design tropes.

Thank you, and I agree, I made him wait around a bunch to give the player just a bit of time to explore without having to worry about him, but if you're waiting for them to go away it gets annoying. The ringing noise was meant to cause slight discomfort when being around him, but I went waaay overboard.

I think the ringing noise itself is actually great!  If you are familiar with using a parametric EQ tool: I think if you throw it into Audacity or Adobe Audition or something and use an EQ to soften the higher frequencies it'll accomplish the discomfort while becoming a little easier on the ears.  If you haven't messed with EQs before, they aren't so scary, you could probably understand what you're looking at with one after a quick google.

Brightly lit rooms, totally not suspicious!

It took way too long but out of pure spite for the dudes pathing I managed to beat it.

Developer(+1)

Thank you, you're the first person other than a friend that's confirmed to have beaten the game.

Yes, I realized during the last days that the layout of the house wasn't particularly conducive to stealth, and even though I tried to add a few hiding spots it still ended up being a bit punishing. He can also hear you, especially when sprinting, something which I feel I could've communicated better.

With a properly designed page, the game would look even better!
The idea with the code is clever, but as soon as I went through the door and walked a bit down the corridor, I got caught. It was quite hard to control the character because of some lag - maybe the game could be optimised a bit for weaker devices. I really liked the game overall, though I almost quit at first because I couldn’t figure out where to find the door code.
Also, I didn’t quite understand what the laptop in the room was for.

Would you mind checking out my game as well?^^

Thank you, I will look at your game. Do you mind telling me what hardware/device you were running the game on?

The graphics are great and the gameplay is solid, but I got stuck on the very first puzzle.

Still, it's well made!

Neat idea! looks cool unfortunately I couldn't beat it 🥲 Good submission!

I too could not make it out of the first room. the hint went to a page that could not be found. looked great though.

Developer(+1)

Sorry, it's not a real page, I had to resort to a link because itch.io doesn't have spoiler tags. The address of the page is the hint.

Seems like the first puzzle is harder than I thought... here's a hint

Couldn't figure out how to exit the room, wasn't able to run any recognized commands. It's a shame, cause it looked pretty cool

After poking around the room for a few minutes, trying a couple of commands on the computer, and putting random numbers on the locked box I couldn't quite figure out how to progress which is unfortunate as it looks pretty cool. I might just be stupid, who knows.

I did not pass the first room but still a good game
