You have incredible control over atmosphere with all of your games. This one is no different. Loved the change in presentation from previous entries

The visuals, music, and writing are so absolutely perfect. I loved the intro with the eclipse, that quiet, frightening magic of it all. I think that worked well to set the tone for the rest of the story. The slow changes to the mom's sprite that aren't really commented on by the child is so haunting, and the scene in the maze filled me with so much dread. It felt like a ghost story in the way we leave ourself in our things and our home and with death comes a haunting but also comes the removal of the self by those who never knew us and want to strip it all down. The glimpse of the bedroom and the final image of the face will haunt my thoughts for a while. Absolutely beautiful storytelling.

Ah, this was a really strong piece! It was wonderfully written, capturing that classic, slow-building horror feel to an excellent degree! It was as eerie as it was nostalgic, highlighted by its theme of trauma and regret. I loved how we  got to learn about Carmen through the main character, their mother, and her "things".  You could really feel for the mother in the final act, which was a highlight for me. Excellent work!

i always head into a skyshard game knowing the story and visuals will blow me away, and once again, i have been blessed by this experience. i want to say the introduction scene with the eclipse gave me the chills – so well written, SO compelling, and the almost hypnotic spin of the eclipse in conjunction with the haunting music in the back combines into one of the best introduction scenes to a game i’ve read. shhh… don’t tell anyone else, but i think you have one of the best writing styles of velox! that’s not to say your art isn’t good either, but i always get the sense you’ve put a lot of work into honing and refining your writing, and i eat it up every single time.

admittedlyyy i did get a little lost along the way for the story, but that’s what the post-mortem is for! i always enjoy reading yours because they provide good insight into your thought process and clears it up a little for me, haha. heartsync’s comment about how the game is about how grief affects you is something i’m seconding! there’s an obsessive undercurrent to their relationship, despite how casual it seems to be set up at first. the body horror was unexpected but not unwelcome, and i honestly think it was done very well – i was a bit spooked! for now, i just want to sit with the atmosphere of this for a little longer.

I always love your visuals, but they feel especially potent in this one, especially with all the layering and the use of colors to convey the shifts in mood. I also really enjoyed the way the mom went through visual changes as she was working through her grief, showcasing the ways grief can effect you (at least, that's my interpretation of this story). I really enjoyed the overall atmosphere a lot!

This was interesting!  The visuals were simple but effective, and the story was very haunting, eerie.  I'm not sure what happened to the Mom's head in the maze though; that was certainly a sight!
