Great platform game, the graphics and controls were excellent.
The difficulty was good as well - would have loved to see a third level (completely understand time constraints though)
Really like have you built up the controls along the way and how you incorporated the theme
Only suggestion would have been to allow the player to control the y-axis so you can tell if you are jumping to a platform/thorns/or nothingness, oh and some sound effects would have been nice too
Thanks for submitting really excellent for your first - would love you play your next
Nice little platformer.
Feedback:
Wish there were bananas on the level to restore health and the second jump of double jump worked every time when you are midair. I felt like it was not working when I tried to do it. Also, if there was a way to look down somehow to know where the platforms are - it would be nice, instead of doing leaps of faith.
Good job overall, I had fun.
Excellent art, animation, and music choice. I like the level design a lot. It was a nice ah-ha moment when I realized I needed to drop down near the middle of the level to get the bird cage, then go back up to the right. I did find that I could get stun locked on some of the porcupine enemies and instantly die.
Really great entry!
Smooth controls ands overall gameplay. That platforming gave a good challenge!
Some additional sound feedback for events like damage, jumping, etc. would be a nice touch.
Well done, the gameplay is very smooth.
really liked this! we tried to do somethng similar. loved the parallax background
Character controls felt smooth and responsive and the artwork was nice! I personally found it a bit difficult so perhaps a checkpointing system could be handy, but i did enjoy how as i was moving through more of the map, i was discovering little shortcuts like dropping down one of the first pits at the start to land on the cage.
Other than that, a few sfx would be nice. I thought it was a charming but challenging platformer, well done!
Very nice, cute and whimsical platformer. Sometimes you can get stuck on the spiky bad guy's back for more than one damage, felt unfair. Not sure how you could solve it or if you even want to, but it is hard to tell if there is land below you.
Also, spoiler for those of you who didn't make it to the second level, there is an air dash.
nice platformer, the controls feel tight.
the camera movement could use a bit smoothing. the way it is now its hard to the rest of the level while jumping around.
the monkey animations look very nice
i liked it
The monkey animation was cute and I liked being able to rescue birds from cages. I found that if I landed on one of the porcupines, sometimes I would get stuck and couldn't move forward, even if I was no longer on the porcupine.
