Cool idea for a musical deckbuilder! I enjoyed it!

Voiceover tutorial was definitely the play.

This was really fun. It was simultaneously satisfying and horrifying hearing my garbled compositions come together.

Cool concept, but very hard to figure out.

DISCLOSURE: I'm not a game developer, nor am I a coder!

I can't figure out what to do. When I try to place an instrument, it doesn't do anything. If I type the numbers on my keyboard, I hear notes being played, but I can't "place" anything on the scale.

hi! you’ve got to hit space to start recording, and once you’ve been counted in, you can play in the notes :)

Thanks for letting me know. If you included that in the instructions, I'm sorry for missing it. If not, that's my only suggestion for improvements. The rest of it looked great!

Crazy good game! I love the incentive to play specific notes in different ways, honestly its a genuine good teaching game also. very well done. Hope it continues to get better after the jam :D

Great concept, the rules were a bit confusing though and I couldn't restart the game once i failed a round...
I really liked the artwork and sound design!

Fantastic concept and it was really fun to try out! Timing and ability metrics seem arbitrary. As a musician i did just kind of ignore the mechanics and tried to write nice melodies so that's on me, but i'd score 0 in timing for a recording that was objectively in time or 0 in ability for ideas that mapped onto chord tones, used lots of notes and sensible rhythmic placements. ... or maybe i really do just suck at music? f**k

Oh this is an amazing idea for a deckbuilder. I love the band-building aspect, the scope for this could probably go as far as filling a whole orchestra if you wanted it to! And we love choosing 1-of-3 things.

My only feedback would be that initially I didn't realise I needed to use the number keys to play the instrument.

We also made a deckbuilder for the jam, so would love your feedback if you wanted to try it out too!

Musical games are a bliss to play always. Great interpretation of theme loop. Never expected a fl studio game, lol. Enjoyed it. Would appreciate if you rate my game too

A very interesting musical game! I enjoyed it! It's really kind of a composition/music theory puzzle, I haven't played any games that do that. The consequence is that people who aren't musically inclined will have a difficult time with it, particularly with the jargon. I should note also that the audio feels a bit loud as the instruments get stacked on. I think this needed some more careful audio mixing. Or perhaps just some (dynamics) compression on the various instruments as well as the master channel would have sufficed.

As a musician, this was quite a lot of fun! Unique, fun and challenging. Also comforting to know that I can keep on time haha :)

The game's concept is honestly very creative and interesting. The tutorial is nice, but would maybe have benefitted if you added in some sort of way to let the user play an "assisted" round. Gameplay loop is fun but also challenging. Artstyle is great and works well together. Audio is what the whole game is based around and it was done wonderfully. Narrative would have been interesting to add somehow but the game's core is okay without one. Anyway, well done on making this awesome submission!
