Very cool game. It was a tough but satisfying challenge to get across all the platforms. I kept bonking my head on the platforms above me, but I eventually made it. Really great job!

Developer

thanks for playing! I might change the platforms a bit since it is hard to get past them but still I might not update it for now.

nice job. I like the idea

Developer

thanks. The game might be updated after the game jam ends because I have to fix some bugs and problems if it has.

Interesting idea. I think it could be better if the player sprite faced the direction I am walking, or even had an animation when he jumps. Besides, good job!

Developer

I added the code to make the Player face the direction of left/right but it didn’t work since it was my first time making a game using godot. But the animation was hard for me to add so I had to watch tutorials but I couldn’t do it as fast as possible

Submitted

It's okay, that's game jams. I am sure that on the next one, you will master animations. (:

I had troubles understanding the objective of the game because I could change the level at any time so It didn't feel too much like progression. Controls are very responsive tho so good job

Developer

i tried to fix that but didn’t have time because I forgot to fix it as fast as possible. So I’m going to fix it after the game jam ends. I think it could be a skip button or like a cheat button. The controls are responsive obviously!

Cool idea with the cowboy looking for his hat! Platforms are pretty close together in height which makes them pretty hard, but once I got past some of them it felt good. Hopefully in the future you can add some more mechanics that help bring the western theme home! Congrats on submitting a game to the jam, making all the assets yourself is always impressive!

Developer

I had the idea to make a ending for the game but I scraped it. But I can update the game and add an ending like when the cowboy is looped like 3 or 4 times then the cowboy has reached his home. But the main objective was so that the cowboy has to found his hat (all of the hats that he had.)

Great job, I loved the music and gameplay :)
Developer

thanks!

the down arrow works regardless of whether you reached the hat or not and idk if its by design, and i think the final jump is impossible lol. nice game

Developer(+1)

well i didn’t know what to do about that problem so I implemented a skip button accidentally. And the final jump is also impossible to me. So I might update the game after the game jam ends.

Played it again and I still could not get over the final jump haha. Tried about 20-30 times(Maybe it's time to reveal that I am bad at platformer games).

The game has a really nice atmosphere with the artwork and the audio! Really loved how the audio changes on different levels.  And it's amazing how you made all the assets.

The gameplay has a nice base, but it feels a bit repetitive and lacks a bit of mechanics. My suggestion after the jam would be to add more mechanics(Although it is totally understandable that in this short jam not much can be added)

Great job!

I think the cowboy should stand in one of the shoes then jump so that it can get past it. But I’m also bad at playing platformer games. I sometimes fall in the game or just couldn’t get through the next level. Although my game is also hard for me to play. I might update that level that had the problem after the game jam ends.

Fun little game! Had fun playing through it. Music was lowkey terrifying lmao

Developer(+1)

sorry if it terrified you. It also terrified me when I wanted to test the game because I had change the volume of the music a bit so the music wouldn’t be that loud. The music is made by ZapperNew (or nodeglitch on itch.io) i didn’t know that much about stuff like synth wave since I needed to choose some themes for the music. I think it buzzes like a computer sound. Thanks for playing!

no problem it was fun!

Thank you so much i made the music and im pleasntly suprised that it was one of the strongest points of the game! if it was terrifing that was becuase it was made to give a lot of supense

Developer

The game music is great!

It looks nice! Love the cowboy concept :)

Developer

thanks for playing. I Appreciate it!

There is an problem in the game where if the button down is pressed if not touching the hat, it still goes to the next level. So I guess this is like an cheating ability in the game.
