This was really cute! I love the vibe, and it was fun trying out all of the different combinations to see how the stranger would react. The art was great, and you really captured a nice cozy aesthetic with this. Nicely done!!

Thank you! We would have loved to put more jokes, or more routes. For example, with the sheep route, everyone was supposed to have a sheep head on the following run. But we’re not so great with Twine 😅 Art is all Yllogique!

The bigger words were confusing, but otherwise I had a great time looking at the Librarian (reminds me of booktok).

Developer

Yes, some quotes aren’t the easiest to understand. The art is so cool thanks to Yllogique!

This is the most creative take on the theme I've seen yet. Loved the presentation to death, too.

And I got a cookie out of it🍪! Nom!

Great job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much! Who wouldn’t like a cookie ? :D

So cool! Just this morning, I was at my library getting books! Now I know that I can get stuff from other visitors by quoting books in the right order :D

I had the greatest time with your little game, but I only managed to get a beverage and a painting. I want more~

I would die for this game if it had more books in it! Will you work on it post-jam?

Developer(+2)

Thank you for playing! We’re receiving very nice comments, that makes me really happy 🥰

Always go to strangers and quote random books to them, I’m sure nobody would mind that.

You can get more by looking for more interactions with (very little spoiler!) the second book. You’ll unlock something more, and you’ll be getting closer to the end.

We don’t plan on working on it. Although, maybe I’ll take the time to add some music later, I don’t know yet. I’m not so sure the “try again placing the sentences in the right order” would be very fun much longer. We have a nice ending, I think that’s already great!

Yesssss! Thank you! :)

LOVE the story and different interaction with other. And also the artwork was great! remind me of the little prince. Would be nicer if have some music and also that you could add some art with the book title example a book with the name of it on it instead of only the title. But nice story!!

Developer

Hi! Thank you for your nice comment! Obviously, the game wouldn’t be the same withou Yllogique’s art :) The book selection isn’t showing titles but cover descriptions, just so it isn’t obvious which books these are. The first one is the Little Prince, it was the first to come to mind when I started writing this idea. The second one is quite well known too, but the third might be harder to guess! (Also, people told me I used quotes from a film adaptation and not from the original book, never trust internet for quotes). I didn’t think of using art for the book covers, although, that might give the books a tad too easy?

I agree it would be better with music and a bit of sound effects. I simply didn’t think of it! First game I make, and first time with Twine :D

This was very charming and the ending really sold it to me. Cute concept and I enjoyed trying to find all the branches in the short narrative. I don't believe there was any audio at all though and that could elevate this further. Great job!

Thank you for playing and for your comment! With a little more time, I would have loved to add jokes and easter eggs in the game. For example, when playing the “full sheep branch”, you were supposed to have a sheep head in the following loop. Wasn’t able to make it in time, but would have been fun, I hope! While writing, I did think it would be very cool to have voices. But we’re neither actors nor native english speaking, you’d have hated my french accent. Although, a little music, and some sound effects (pages of a book ?) would be a great addition, you’re absolutely right.

Really cool concept ! I was really happy to unlock the end (and the little sheep is incredibly cute)

Developer

Thank you for playing, and for your nice comment! So you don’t think it was quite a poor drawing ? 😂 I wrote this line before Yllogique drew the sheep!

Through reading we can all loop back in time.
