How does your game fit the theme?
Player 1 uses the keyboard to dance to a looping song. The dance is a string of letters with specific durations that they must master to blend into the crowd. The bouncer (player 2, using mouse) needs to find the one human player and kick them out. The game is centered on how well the both players can observe the looping dance.

This is an extremely creative idea. I like the minimalist visuals as well.
This is awesome! Making a local multiplayer game on a game jam has been on my mind for a while. Of course, most people try game jam games alone, but I am glad that didn't stop you from attempting such a cool design!
I play a lot of Thief Town with friends, which works similarly to this game, so seeing a twist in the formula that makes it more interesting than just mimicking CPU behaviour and mixing it up with a rhythm game is such a cool concept!
Honestly, the concept was executed so well that I am not sure if I have any more feedback, other than maybe forcing the player dancing to switch to another type of dance to throw them off if they can't adapt. Or having two types of dances going at the same time.
It's probably a stretch, but I believe this could work as one minigame in a competitive party WarioWare-like game based on minigames in which you have to identify your friends. Fantastic entry!
yo thank you for playing! I agree with your notes, right now it feels a little weighted in the dancer direction. The other dude who worked on it with me had some really good ideas that could offer some variety in the play too, maybe we will get around to implementing some of the feedback. Cheers!
I see now the letters you have to repeat are completely random but the first word i got was a slur so that was definitely a surprise.
Love these multiplayer deception games though!! Wonderful art style and gameplay. Maybe put in a censor for naughty words though
I did think about this happening but I thought the odds were too low (and didn't have time to implement), that is a very bad first experience sorry! Not intentional.
fun gameplay, special plus for coop
thanks for playing!
Cool concept! ¦3
I like clean visuals, bouncy effects, and outlines. You can experiment with making all the textures high-resolution, but rendering the game in low resolution (e.g. rendering to a small texture, and then putting it on the screen).
Maybe having them dance to the music beats would make it more immersive, as currently it is a bit painful to press the button at completely random time intervals. But I am biased here, as a long-time rhythm games player ¦3
very fair, we had some beat detection but it was very hard to get working. The current time intervals are all down beats in 4/4 so sometimes it's the 2 or the 4 or the 6 or the 8 but they are all technically programmed to be "in time" I guess as opposed to "on Beat". Thank you for playing and for the great feedback!
Great game! The music and visuals were nice, and the gameplay was fun!
thank you!
I love the game. The concept is very nice. I like the song and the visual is really cute.
thank you!
Its a 10/10, its so crazy funny!
it created funny dynamics between us
haha glad to hear that, thanks for playing!
you two are single handedly bringing co op games back from the grave with this one
one of the funnest i've played for sure! nice work
Thank you!
THIS GAME IS SO FUN! Me and my buddy had a great time playing. I just wish I knew who I was as the dancer. It's really great to see a 2 player game in a game jam, especially one that turned out so well.
Thank you! I agree with ya on the visual, having some indicator or giveaway for the dancer would be fun, it makes it more tense when you know where on the screen you are haha
I really like the aesthetic and the idea of the game. Unfortunately, I had to play alone, but it seems like a lot of fun with friends!!
that is the "multiplayer in a game jam" struggle, but thank you for checking it out and the kind words! Best of luck in the jam!
