I just want to bring to everyone's attention that there is a bug that causes there to be a 1/5 chance that the boss at the end does not spawn. I have fixed it know and the fixed version will be uploaded once the jam is over. I apologise if this happens to you.
Smeargle battle simulator. I like the concept! Art-style-wise, I felt there could be more contrast, as most colors blended into each other on the battle screen. Nice, simple Mario narrative. I did encounter a bug on my third run where I entered the boss room, and nothing on the battle screen loaded, neither my attacks nor the boss.
Thanks for letting me know I'll take a look at it and upload a fixed version once the jam is over
I like the idea of stealing attacks from enemies and having a definitive order of actions. That being said many combat encounters felt very slow and took a really long time to end in either a win or a loss. Good concept, and it reminds me a lot of autobattlers in a good way!
Love the combat mechanic, would be great with more options, but that is the truth of all games in a game jam. It is a great system that could be really fleshed out. Well done, i really enjoyed playing, once i got the knack for it the fights became really satisfying.
Thanks for the feedback. I'm thinking of making a more fleshed out version with more attacks that cause status effects and passive options to add to your loop.
Cool game :)
The concept is neat! An attack loop persay. I did find this one very difficult, struggling to get past the first enemy, a worm. Didn't have any audio either.
The concept of stealing attacks is really cool, actually. I enjoy things being done sequentially. Its a shame theres no audio though.
Thanks, I was planning to add SFX and background music but ran out of time and had other more essential things I had to add to the game.
This is addictive i cant lie!
