- The threat of external force is universal, as natural disasters and certain viruses have taught us, especially in the last few decades. Your game encapsulated that fear nicely with an identifiable threat with distinct ramifications of failure. Everything felt well explained as to what was required of me, especially in the ending, where the choices I made were put on display. Cause and Effect. One thing I would suggest is to not have the inventory hide like a windows taskbar, either being a menu that you open, or (my personal favorite) having it be static on the screen so I can always so what I have and other relevant information such as location and time. Moving on to the Game Design Document, everything I look for was there, though the planning section was messy at best. I like the idea of a flow chart to track prerequisites, but that is the first step. Putting the flow chart into a calendar, or even a table helps to keep things organized in terms of what needs to be done by a certain timeframe. Think of it like a syllabus for a school course, where the due dates are there so everyone can stay on track with things. All in all, Great work!!!

Great game reminiscent of the Don't Escape series. Love it! I thought I had doomed myself to a bad end when I "put it on put it on", but it didn't seem to do anything in the end even after I saved everyone. Also, I had a bug where the map screen was completely black in the web version, though refreshing the page fixed it. Just thought I should point it out in case there's a bigger problem at play. Finally, let us pet the dog! Good work!
So glad you were able to recognize our inspiration! We will have to look into that bug for sure. We may expand on the game after the jam to include more items/mechanics so petting the dog will be a thing eventually for sure! Glad you enjoyed it and thanks so much for playing!
If you could recall, was there a specific action that you made before the map screen went black? Like, for instance, were you at the house before going to the map, or did you opened and closed the options menu?
I tried it twice, first I fully explored the home area (all the rooms and the barn), took Joey with me, and then clicked the car to enter the town map. The map screen was completely black, but I could see that Joey was in my party based on his icon on the bottom left, and moving my mouse to the top shows my inventory as normal. It also let me access the options, which let me restart the game (without refreshing the page) so I tried again.
The second time I went straight for the map without picking up anything in the home area, and got the same black screen while the inventory/options button still works like before. This time I clicked around randomly in the black screen , and I saw the path to the pharmacy highlighted during one of the clicks (simply moving the cursor around didn't highlight anything), and I was even able to go to the pharmacy from there.
That's when I refreshed the page, and this time the map screen showed up without issue. I should note that this could be a problem with my browser (Opera) since I've noticed some HTML5 games, including some of my own games, lags horribly at times, which causes issues that doesn't show up when playtesting from the engine. I didn't notice any lag when playing your game though, so maybe it's something else. Hope this helps!
It's been a while since I played a point-and-click game, and it felt nostalgic to return to one. The puzzles were fun, with enough intricacy to be rewarding but never feeling unfairly convoluted. I enjoyed how helping people could be a route to additional resources, always feels good to be rewarded for being nice, especially when those choices felt like they cost something that could be useful.
I enjoyed routing through the game, I got ending 2/5 on the first run, so went back to get the good ending, which I was able to get on my next one thanks to getting a bit of sleuthing done previously.
The amount of dread I felt when I Put it on. Put it on. Put it on. was really funny 'cause like, duh, what did I expect making those choices.
Great writing and art, UI was clean and responsive, didn't hit any issues while playing.
Congratulations to the whole team for a great entry!
Wow thank you so much for the kind words! We really put our hearts into this one and I'm glad a lot of people were able to appreciate the end result. I'm really amazed to see how much interest there was in the game for people to follow through with their runs and push towards the good ending. Such a delight to get great feedback like this. Thanks for playing and I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Had fun playing this. Failure felt fair and I looked forward to each run to try and explore a different combination of decisions. Well done.
The whole idea was to learn from your mistakes. I'm so glad you enjoyed it enough to figure it out! Means the world to me. Thanks for the kind words and trying the game.
Streamed my review live on twitch!
Loved the paint-ish art style, and the puzzle choices were satisfying. Didnt see every outcome yet, like the padlock for the barn? and the golden ring of bad omens, but I got a good ending! Great work and super creative submissions

Thanks for playing and streaming the game! I'm glad you enjoyed it enough to grind out to the good ending! We actually got some good insight from your stream as we noticed a glitch in the ending script. The padlock is only for either the front door or basement door so there is no securing the barn, though that would've been a good idea to implement. The ring is just some spicey lore it has no impact on the game. The glitch was that you aren't supposed to board the door and cover it with the cabinet as the cabinet is enough to fend off the wolves. So the boarding that would've been applied to the basement door kind of counted when it shouldn't have. 'Tis a learning process and this is def our most intricate and longest game so far so it was a good thing to notice. Thanks again!
haha! I've done it! Good job, it kept bringing me back for more to get the good ending! One of the bullets was a bit mean to find (you know which one) Keep up the good work.
Really appreciate you spreading the word on the game and helping out with the confusion!
Yea that one spot is a little merciless haha. Great job getting the good ending. I'm glad people had enough interest to figure it all out!
Do you plan on expanding this game out? I know it's currently a self contained little package but I'd love to see more options and more ways to win
Considering this is our first fully completed jam with everything we wanted to implement included, I highly doubt it unfortunately. We did have this idea to add a kind of ritual with components you would use to create a barrier around your home for a guaranteed good ending but we decided to opt out of it since we barely made time for the full game without that idea. If we did continue development on this that's one thing we would probably implement, as well as means to secure to barn which none of us really thought about but seems like a nice addition.
Good vibes with this one. Great that there is a popup when you hover over interactables, otherwise I would really get stuck. Haven't found all the options to slow down the wolves yet, I think I might revisit this one.
Great game, It was hard to understand what to do at the beginning but I got the hang of it, Loved how you can have a pet join your team, nice addition!
I like that the story unfolds differently than what i expect. Nice additions for an adventure game. It's really good, cool art and overall vibe!
too smooth brain for these kind of games but i really like the music lol
