A cool rhythm game! Music rhythm games are one of my favorite types of games because of Friday Night Funkin  and it's nice to see one in the game jam!

There is a bug that when you press W or S, it doesnt show the indicator that it got pressed, only on the up and down directions buttons.

Although, i didn't understand about the unrealiable narrator since he seems like a nice narrator that ins't lying to the player at any moment in the game.

If you're going to update this game in the future, i'd like to see new features, like:

  • Time progress bar
  • Effects when you hit a note (fruit, like it slowly fading away)
  • Combo bar (how many you hit without missing)
  • and etc!

Would like to see more updates to this game in the future and i'd like to play it again too!

Cute art and nice music!

Pretty much like the others have been saying, the background made it difficult to focus on the notes due to the lack of contrast. I found myself really distracted by the bouncing as well. Perhaps making the background bounce a little more subtly may help with that?

Making the notes disappear after hitting them would also help let us know when we hit a note or if we missed it.

Creating a rhythm game in the allotted time period seems difficult though so good job for what you got done. :)

thanks for the feedback!

Very nice color choice, the notes would benefit from being a contrasting color because they kinda blend w the background. Good job on the entry, i like rythm games!

The art style is cute! I just wish there were more sound effects

Neat little rhythm game! The music was solid and I thought the super compressed announcer voicelines were a fun touch. Something that I think is missing from the gameplay is a clearer visual indicator of whether or not each button press was timed correctly. Outside of the score going up and the occasional compliment from the announcer, it's not super obvious whether or not the timing was good.

Nice work overall!

Yeah I found the game  interesting but the moving background made this so difficult to play, I couldn't really focus on the gameplay, sorry. The music was pretty good tho.

Agreed but I loved the controls

Fun music, but you could really use some visual feedback on hits/misses. The background made it hard to focus on the rhythm cues. The main character is amazing.

Good work on your first game! Music is awesome, feels like its made by someone strong and handsome. Besides that, the synchronization of the music and the items feels kind off and the background really trips me out after some time. Really fun project to keep working on!

Fun looking game, the menus are cute but the bouncing around of the environment made me nauseous so I couldn't play much of the actual rhythm game part lol

Developer

yeah i would agree, that is definitely something i plan to change going forward.
