Yep potions are just an item that has an effect that happens once a battle. I will change the name of the item slot after the jam so people know you don't need to manually consume it
Thanks for playing!

This game jam has some of the most potential of any game jam I've ever played. Really exciting game!
The combat animations were a bit too slow and I would have loved some kind of SFX to go with the clickable circle indicator in combat.
Also I don't think I was using all of the systems correctly. I had like 10 different timebomb modules but only noticed a timebomb do damage once, and it did 1 damage lol. I didn't see any reason not to equip all of my modules on one action (either attack or special) and then only use that action. And when I first started the game there was a big menu where it looked like I would equip items or something but I didn't have any. Even after beating the first boss I never got sent back to that first menu so I didn't understand what it was for.
The polish on the menus, animations, buttons, etc. was top notch. Well done!
Good game jam entry! Congrats on your first GWJ and welcome :)
Didn't read the instructions until I had killed 60 mutants and realized I had to upgrade my character manually. Cool take on a game and I really appreciated the tweening of the bars at the bottom, it was satisfying to look at
I like the risk vs reward but it didn't feel great to kill a bunch of mutants and spend currency just to reduce my own stats if I tried to upgrade too early / got unlucky :(
Some of the best and most memorable art I've ever seen in a game jam, really well done! And definitely an original game, haven't seen something like this.
My first patient I got 4 bad mutations in a row and instantly died (I didn't realize the memorization game was happening the first time until halfway through it) so I got pretty unlucky lol. Played again and got to patient 7 but kept getting bad rolls and having to do the memory game until I eventually failed it from a misclick. The luck can be pretty brutal, I would have loved some form of bad luck protection.
Also not sure if I'm the only one, but the panning in the music was giving me vertigo so I had to turn off the music. It seemed like good sound if it didn't pan so much!
The graphics, characters, and theme were great!
I picked the bee swarm as my first weapon and it was pretty weak so I ended up dying. I wanted to play again but it sent me back to the beginning of the unskippable dialogue! Would love to see a way to skip the dialogue and see the gameplay more easily.
Once I learned how to read the signs it was an interesting game. Because the controls / physics were really janky it felt difficult - I expected to teleport above the doll but it would teleport me below, so I always had to teleport before it lands on the ground or I'd fall through the floor into spike. It led to some fun mechanically difficult plays.
Would have liked the text from the signs to scroll much faster or be instant!
