Oh the monochrome with the red details is such a nice aesthetic and you used it wonderfully in this. I love a good angsty story so this really hit that spot for me. Monochrome is also such an interesting character that I’d love to see more of in the future. I also love your artstyle a lot! Especially that final image of Farah is so so pretty! Nice work!

First of all, I'm a sucker for achromatic/monochromatic stuff, so aesthetically is HITS just the right spot. And I think this perfectly illustrates holding onto someone who's no longer who they used to be. That was an incredible experience overall, I need to check out the rest of your works

i loved how much of this there was for such a short jam! three different characters, a thoughtful narrative, and honestly that 1.8k felt so much like a full on 10k visual novel to me, maybe because in loving, oblivion had so much to say and offer. the way the world is rendered in black and white only makes the red stand out even further, and i loved getting the chance to get to the bottom of this twisted and convoluted sort-of love triangle.

i def think the best part is, of course, the prose. the art is a great companion to the meaningful and deliberate writing of this vn. the switch between typical narrative style writing within the dialogue boxes and actual vn style dialogue is a really interesting way to blend the written form with the vn form, and i’m really intrigued by how this can be expanded! i typically write in narrative form too, so i always feel like that will speak more to me. great work!

sCREAMS- thank you so much!!! oh gosh, 10k??? well in positive news! i am working on a chrome centric visual novel ( and asha and farah will feature there too tehe ) that will offer hopefully an actual 10k+ length story heheh and yes! i love narrative writing style - it's like my default, i couldn't let it go!!! so i'm glad you liked how i wrote things <3

in loving, oblivion is so extremely well-directed. Just an absolute procession of brilliant choices from the art direction to the narrative structure to the written prose. So well-considered through and through.

I love when pieces of media play on color, and the way you did in writing and art was so striking! Your descriptive prose is so compelling. Awesome job!!

The art and how it's presented and framed in this is so nice to look at it!! I've always been a sucker for monochrome games, and it aided the narrative and theme well!

thank you!!!! <3 i'm really glad you think so! :DDD

ARGH your visual aesthetics are unparalleled! The sprites? Absolutely beautiful and that perfect sketchy vibe to them. I have to agree that I found the chapter splits super clever in how they mesh with the overall message of the story. Bravo! ヽ(´▽`)/

Great game! I really enjoyed the writing and use of description. One line stood out to me so much, I had to write it down: "It was too cold to laugh, yet we did it anyway." WOW!

I felt the music fit well. Together with the sprite art, the backgrounds, and the black frame, it all worked so well to create a melancholic, almost regretful, vibe that made the MC's feelings come across that much stronger.

I liked how you split the story into chapters. I felt it told the story well and gave a sense of time passing. I also love how each chapter is divided into a distinct color only for the game to then say that things are not so black and white. Like yeah, even if we can sort our memories into colors, love and life and the combination of all things will never be purely monochromatic.

I really enjoyed this game! Thanks for making it, and good job!

thank you so much!!! <3 i'm really happy you enjoyed it!!! and so true!!! life really never be fully monochromatic, i love that you caught that - its a good reminder to show that life is full of colors and that in itself is a beautiful thing. makes everything feel just a bit less bleak at times!!!

I really loved the visual style of this piece. I can see how much thought went into all of the details with the background, the framing, the sprites, etc. Really lovely work! Great writing and music choice as well.
