While relaxing in your favorite tavern you heard people talking very concerned about the events unfolding in Brandonsford. A dragon has been attacking innocent people; the town is afraid, very afraid. Being the hardened adventurers that you are you understand that a dragon mean gold, and lots of it, either from the dragon's hoard or from scared townsfolk repaying you.

This will be where a play by post version of The Black Wyrm of Brandonsford by Chance Dudinack. You will have the next four hours after the posting of this thread to make a character for your osr game of choice (it can be anything, I mean anything), introduce them, and post their stats below. Once the time is up play will begin. Best of luck.

Sybil Swinney - Level 1 Thief (OSE)

Sybil thought she could finally turn things around. After apprenticing in the Cooper's Guild for 10 years she applied for journeyman status. She was rejected immediately, on the grounds that during her apprenticeship (8 years longer than average, by the way) she spent more time daydreaming than actually making barrels. That night she broke into the Master Cooper's house, grabbed herself enough gold to kit herself out with a thieving essentials, and went back to her old ways. Now she travels to Brandonsford, to make up for lost time.

As y'all ride into the town of brandonsford it's about sunset. It's a small town situated in the Yol'najj forest, south of the old woods but a fair distance from the cutting fields.  You are greeted by two inns in the town, the Clumsy Fox Tavern and the Golden Egg Tavern. Where do you wish to stay your first night?

For the sake of clarity I will be updating this two or three times a day.

Sybil has no opinion, as she also has no coin to spend on room and board. She thinks it may be a good idea for someone to keep an eye on the town and skies throughout the night, and would like to spend the night beneath the stars, perhaps on the roof of whatever inn the party chooses.

dr webb was distracted when he was told the names of the taverns and completely missed the context. "clumsy? how dare you! i'll have you know i'm incredibly spry for my age! now stop wasting time and let's go get this golden egg."

Trebbo offers to scope out both inns and figure out how they’re priced, what kind of food is on offer, and which one has more folks milling about — starting with the Clumsy Fox.

Jim Rude has no qualms sleeping rough, as he too has no funds to pay for a room. Though he would like to enter whichever one looks the most like the saloons back home and ask what all this 'dragon' business is about.

“I’m with Sybil” says Ron, feeling too itchy for some action to appreciate a comfortable bed tonight. “Under the stars is how we used to do it asea.”

All other things being equal, Ron likes the sound of the Golden Egg.

As she is also broke and hoping to help the party however she can, Babs volunteers to lead the way up, as she (a rabbit) can make the leap to the roof of an inn and secure her grappling hook for others to climb. She'll post up near the Clumsy Fox first, waiting for Trebbo's signal.
