Really cool idea, nice game :)
Great game, very cute and unique concept! I'd love to learn about how you did the AI! The only thing is that it isn't quite clear to me how to take back a village after the AI cuts you off.

Taking back villages that were already claimed was unfortunately a feature I didn't get to as I ran out of time. The original plan was to allow you to attack claimed villages by moving your villagers there and a battle would ensue.
As for the AI, I used a state machine and had it check between claiming new villages that it had available, and reinforcing further-up villages. It wasn't as intricate as it sounds but hopefully that makes sense!
One of the more unique submissions, and like mentioned in the comments I am really inspired to make a strategy game now. I really loved this and hope you continue the project, great work!

Bit of a confusing game, but it's a good start! If you expand on this, please improve user experience and feedback by adding more visuals and sounds. Also, make the tutorial very thorough, so there is no chance to misinterpret how the game works. Great work!

This is the first strategy jam game I've ever seen. Really interesting stuff here, it makes me want to try out making one in the genre.
