  • Surrealist delirium, this game is above all destabilizing as a strange dream would be. Weird places, incongruous presence of objects with absurd dimensions and sounds, the atmosphere is set to make it clear that we are in the middle of a dream. In itself, it is already a success. The game engine is fluid, no technical problems or bugs to deplore.
  • I will be posting a comprehensive YouTube video of my multiple playthroughs and feedback soon. https://www.youtube.com/@JimmyBriggs
  • N'ayant pas participer à la YazJam 2, ma découverte fut entière. Je n'ai pas eu le sentiment d'un monde irréel mais plus d'une folie. La fin me conforte dans cette idée.

Diversifier/Défi optionnel
I created the game for YAZJam 2 in 2021. For YAZJam5 I am submitting it once again in October 2024. Because I think it fits the "Is this for real?" surreal and dream-like theme - maybe better than the game jam entry I am actually still working on right now (and not sure yet if I'll be able to finish that in time).

Somninsanium also includes the optional "5" diversifier already, since it doesn't last longer than 5 minutes. I haven't included any other additional diversifiers though. There are "3 of ..." different objects and items in the game, but I think this doesn't count.

I remembered this game from the past, but it was a funny /good idea to put it in this year's Yaz Jam! It's still a good game with interesting ideas and an original design. Of course it is short and limited, it's more of an experience than a game, but it's still fun, with different possible interactions, and I really like the world in which it takes place. It's just so weird! Those hands out of the walls are like a nightmare, while the giant white tree on the contrary looks like a beautiful dream. We're totally in the theme! Very good job.

I totally agree that this is more an experience than a game, because there is no real challenge and not much to do. Thank you for your nice feedback! :)

this was creepy as... but so well done nice one
Apparently I passed! I should try again and see what happens if I don't :)

Thank you :D haha yeah, I guess especially the sounds are quite creepy. It was a funny diversifier for that one originally, to produce all the sounds in the game with your mouth. :D

It was nice to finally play this strange experiment (I didn't get to play it in YazJam 2) but it fits in very well with the theme of this game jam.

Very well done.

I really wasn't sure if I should submit this again, but this feedback makes me happy and is a confirmation.

By the way: the game is actually based on a veeeery early real dream (or: nightmare) of mine which I never forgot. I just had to try to recreate this atmosphere!

Really cool and hilarious short experience. Replayed a couple of times. Fantastic.

Thank you for your nice feedback! I'm looking forward to play yours as well after I watched the Tiger's stream yesterday. :)
