Cool philosophical idea. Really touches the soul! How did you implement the room generation? Is it infinite and you just change the room label, or it is finite?

Developer

It is infinit, you are being seemingless teleported back and the label changes. Thanks for the question :D

Not exactly a "fun" game, but a good exploration of the topic. :P Only negative feedback is that, like someone else below, I wish your top speed meant that you could fly backwards and not hit the roof!

Really a amazing idea! I really love games where it is important not to master the mechanics but to dive into the idea! Good job :D

Submitted(+1)

It was really entertaining to just hold back and fly through the levels (I got to -100). My only feedback is that you slow down hitting the ceiling when doing so.

Submitted(+1)

That was weird. This is a game, that discourages you from playing it, so the smart move is not to play it altogether? Message is unique, but unclear.

Aesthetics are minimalistic and look nice, complementing general idea, movement is fun, creativity is on point. Overall, pretty good exploration of jam theme, I liked it.

Man, I was stuck on level -3 for like an hour. Super difficult. Don't know why level -3 is before level -2. Level -2 is a cakewalk compared to level -3.

Developer

Yes! Level -3 is really difficult xD

I think I enjoyed the game. I do agree that I didn't know what was going on until I really considered the theme. I think turning off the game is the only winning move? Its a bit vague, and just some audio or something over the top to emphasise this for simple monke man like myself would've been greatly appreciated, Its good though, well done for doing it, and I like the touch of the light that changes colour, just as its out of view.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your feedback. Yes i was thinking about to adding audio, but the time was over so maybe i will add this later. And you are right: The only real way to win is to turn the game off because there is nothing that you can reach, which will ever satisfie you (this is the message of the game that i tried to implement).

Oh hey, I'm also at level 36 at the moment XD As for the game, it uses physics for gameplay quite well, but it definitely lacks depth, some lore that would hint at the meaning of life ;)

Developer

Yes, with more times i maybe would add an voice that would say someting when you enter the next Level which repeats itself.

Submitted(+1)

That's... deep.

What an interesting game.

Developer

Thank you a lot ^^

Submitted(+1)

Interesting.

In terms of gameplay; obviously there isn't a huge amount to improve on. It's simple; it works. The ball could do with a non-default texture, and some better lighting would go a long way.

In terms of the message - it's an interpretation of the theme which I haven't seen before and I give it big originality points for that! It's something to think about!

But... if I hadn't have known that the prompt was about messing with what success means; I don't know that I would have understood what you were trying to say with the game... I would have just been frustrated.

So improvements would be - how to more precisely give your message within this framework?

It's a difficult question to answer I think :)

Developer

Thank you for your feedback. Yes i tried to see the topic from another angel, but you are absolutly right that this is unexplained in the Game itself and so creates an unsatisfied "is there anything that i did miss?"-thing. But i will think of an solution :)

Submitted(+1)

Nice :)

Developer

Thank you ^^

Submitted(+1)

Hm....

I went back and back and back ^^ reached Level -37

Question... I assume you place the levels by code and just change the numbers right?

Developer(+1)

Yes it really is infinit. It gets his infinity done by teleporting you seamingless back or forth (depending if you go a layer up or down) so you are really never leaving the Startingcube. And everytime you get teleported the Numbers just get changed accordingly like you said.

The acceleration is tough to control, but once you get used to it I bet it's fine. I had an issue getting stuck under a ramp, seems like there's a lot of friction on it or something or just had me stuck.

Developer(+1)

Yes that is a bug, sorry but didn't had time for it.

The minimalist graphics were really nice and the metaphor behind the game was also a nice touch! Overall, it had really nice "Marble Madness" movement too!

I was prepared for a whole game with new levels and mechanics, but I this was even better. Once I came to the realization of what it was about, I read the description and smiled. This was really creative and simple, good job!

Developer

Thanks a lot! This is one of my first Unity Projects and I‘m happy how it turned out in the end.

I'm curious if you don't mind me asking- how did you get it to have so many levels of the same type?  Was it code or did you just keep making more?

Developer

It is just a simple Illusion. At the End of an Level you will be seemingless teleported to the beginning of it again, only the Text-Field changes it's number. So there is really no end to it.

Submitted(+1)

oohhhhh, that's really smart. Good job with your submission again, I'd love to see more from you in the future!
