very nice looking level. I wasnt able to play it on my quest2 not sure why but the level was the size of my head I was able to put my head down inside of it and it looked great and I liked the lay out. wanted to play it. hope to play a future submission!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for giving it a try.
Sadly the apk does not work. I havent heard about that bug before.

I will continue to look on how to do proper oculus builds !

Submitted(+1)

Sadly doesn't work for me, hands are offset complete 180 degree, had to restart my quest to get me to spawn in the room and not outside, button to teleport gun doesn't work, I spawn in the floor for some reason, sometimes my hands got stuck under the floor, and just a ton of bugs, I tried reinstalling the game many times but nothing worked. Wish I could of experienced the game.

Submitted(+1)

I'll still give it a high rating because it seems like a very well polished game.

Developer

Hey, thats bad to hear. I threw the apk build in the last minutes together and hoped it will just work out.
I dont really know what the problem is and I sadly cannot test it on an Oculus device.

Wow that is really kind of you ! Thank you very much.
Again im sorry that it didnt work :/

Very well-done game.  Puzzles were well thought out and implemented and the zombie combat added a sense of urgency to the end room.

Developer

Tank you for playing !

I didnt thought about that. I was considering adding a timer to the game but I think it is better without.
The final room music really does give that feeling without pressuring you to much.

Holy crap this is so polished and well put together for a game jam! The controls were great and the puzzles were really cool. So far this is the best implementation I've experienced when it comes to hand interaction and puzzles. Loved the aesthetics too! I did have problems getting it to work with the apk file, but the pc version worked just fine. You're an inspiration for what can be accomplished in 72hours. You really make me want to step my game up!

Thanks for a great entry. I'd be shocked if you weren't in the top of the pack!

Developer

Thanks a lot man ! thats very nice to hear.

Yea I just build the apk at the very last moment and just hoped it will work out.
I will dont really know what is the problem but hopefully I will figure it out for the next time !

Thank you again, it really did took me two very long nights to finish !

damn boy, that was a whole experience. a few times i was like "thats it, he ran out of time and ended the game like this" but after trying a few things discovering a whole new stage. The hand interactions feels pretty good, but we REALLY needed a holster for the gun, it's kinda impossible to climb stairs while holding a gun. and at some point the turtle got stuck in the floor and almost broke my game. but pretty solid entry for the jam. Got to the end and enjoyed it.

Developer

Thank you very much !
Yea I guess a holster would have been a better solution. I had the pull mechanic and called it a day ^^

Good to hear you liked it :)
I just saw you fixed the bug with the gesture in your game ? I will try out, it already looked very interesting !

Submitted

yes it's supposed to be fixed now... i hope lol

Awesome game just wish I was able to get past the tower with 3 chests.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for trying it out !
You can shoot the chain from the hanging crystal, with it the 3 crystals and chests are color-code. It is a little bit hard to determine some colors due to the bright light.

Okay, prepare for a long post !

First, I want to say that it is AMAZING that you had put up this game in just 72 hours ! I was surprised with the complexity of the puzzle, like the one with the books that you have to put in order or the one with the crystal, that's amazing ! And also, AI, damage system, death animation with physics, sounds... that's a LOT of things for one person in 72 hours

The part that I got stuck with is the last room with a lot of zombies, I did not found a way to go to the turtle on the left, so I used a bug to get there (don't judge me please lmao) . The bug is that when you grab the gun and you try to pull it, it push you into the opposite direction, so I put the gun in my right hand and I pull it, thanks to this bug feature I got the left turtle easily. But then the turtle head got stuck in the floor and I had to reload the last save point.

I also lost the white crystal in the zombie prison into the floor, so I also had to reload.

The save and load system is actually quite a good idea in this kind of game jam where there is a HIGH probability of having a bug (like the gun jump, or the turtle head getting stuck in the floor), thanks to this system I managed to restart the room and finish.

I could also walk from the left bridge to the right bridge because there is no collider on the big stone above the last gate.

I love the sound design, the sliding rock sound is so satisfying when I figured out your enigmas ! Also, the music in the last room was very enjoyable, but it was quite loud.

I am amazed that you managed to combine Autohand with Hexabody, I think that the first time I see that. Is there a reason you didn't go with Hurricane VR ?

Just one thing...what have you done with this UI ? When I had the bug in the prison room. I wanted to restart the game, but couldn't remember how to. So I opened up the ui and it was in the ceiling, half-hidden.

And how did you manage to show images on the books ? It is a render texture or something like that because it very well done !

Also the art that you hand drawn was very good, I felt well immersed.

Very very good job ! I am interested in seeing what you could do with more experience !

Thank you very much !
That is very nice to hear ! It really  did cost me two very long nights and a rough monday morning ^^

Ohh how could I have not check what happens when trying to pull the gun while holding it ? Its based on a distance check so it must work, right ? Anyways this "feature" also is surprisingly fun.

Yea I figured it would be a good idea to be able to restart a certain part within the game for cases like the turtle or the crystal.
I does produce some bugs as I think some previously grabbed items get duplicated. Good to hear that it worked !
The UI was made in a rush it always pops up ~5m in front of you current view direction ignoring any walls whatsoever.

There is a torch-leaver on the other wall of the first bridge that grants you access to the first turtle and I definietly missed the collider there.

HexaBody and Autohand are really amazing and I figures why not combine them ? I think they work really well together. I am actually working on a playercontroller that combines the SteamVR plugins fingertracking for the knuckles with HexaBody and Autohand ! It required a bit of rewriting of some asset code but it already works, there are just some little issues with grabbing every now and then.
Ah and also I dont own Hurricane VR as I bought the VRIF instead, I figured out that HexaBody and Hurricane work together later :(

For the books I just put some blood vfx images on top of the main texture, look pretty great right ?

Again thank you a lot for your review. I definitely took some advise out of it and the game you made :)
Have a great one !

I couldn't get passed the book case? What am I supposed to do? I threw all the books and stuff out of there, shot it up a bunch of times and then gave up. It might also help to note that I am terrible at Escape Rooms in general.

What I did like was the progressing tutorial of teaching you how to play. That was very satisfying and getting rewarded for each of my actions with something in the world happening like a door opening or stairs rising out of the ground was great. I'd like to give it another go, but how do you get past that book case?

Also... tiny hands! haha

Developer

Thanks for playing !

In the bookcase is one open book it shows you how to order the vertical standing books.
Its quiet small on the right page.

I tried to keep the puzzles quit simple but some clues could have been bigger or the lights are a little to bright/dark sometimes.

Did you play the Game sitting ? I think its something with HaxaBody but it makes everything look super small, try playing standing.
Bug or feature ? you decide ;D

Ohhh... I dropped the book real quick and it disappeared into the floor so I couldnt pick it back up again and see what it said lol.

Developer

Damn that never happend to me.
The floor collider is to flat, I think thats causing it.

Wow lots of stuff in this game. It took me 25 minutes to beat it. Lots of different puzzles, AI, and cool use of moving stairs. Very impressive for 72 hours.

Only problem I had is that gun would sometimes be in the wrong position after dropping and picking back up. Can the zombies kill you? I didn't try to find out.

Developer

Thank you ! thats nice to hear.

Yea I could not get the gun fixed so I just went with it :D
Well the zombies do attack you but there is not damage whatsoever. I was planning it but didnt have time for that.
