Dang, I thought I had the mappings set up, should just be while holding the wand pressing the x or y button should cycle the spells, with the hand holding the wand. This is our first game and we didn't have a Quest with Link set up for testing, but one of our members just got it set up and working, did take some set up on he controls though I think. SymbioticParker should be able to help if you were wanting to try again.
Pretty neat game! The ice spheres might have worked better as cubes, they kept rolling off the buttons and I ended up spending way longer than I needed to just trying to get them to stay still.
OH, and those chain physics were DOPE, kind of wish there were more!
This is fantastic, probably the best game I've played in the jam so far. Unfortunately, I couldn't get the seesaw to tip for some reason, but there's a lot of potential depth with these mechanics (and presumably you could add even more spells, or more interactions to the existing spells). And the level of polish on visuals and audios is through the roof!
The controls with the Vive were a little weird, it seems that cycling through spells also immediately triggered them, and there was no way to stop casting the spell except to drop and regrab the wand. Still, very impressive jam game!
Ah yeah sorry the giant scale was only there to show you what to do on the switches! Should have explained that better. Only the switches can activate, the scale itself just shows you what to do with the switches, you aren't the first one to try to mess with it. I was trying to figure out a good way to illustrate that one weighted switch needs to have more weight and the other needs less, originally they were two separate rooms with the room color (lava vs ice) showing you which power you should use, but we melded them into a single puzzle and lost some of the guidance that the rooms offer.
Ohhh, I see. Maybe painting the target configuration on the wall instead of putting it into the actual play space might work? Or putting it inside a glass box or something, just to make sure the player understands they're not supposed to interact with it.
Let me know if you've got some cleaner Vive bindings at some point, would love to give it another shot and see the rest of the game.
That's a good idea. I actually already got some better vive bindings and now that the judging is over I think we should be able to update it. I'll let you know when we get it updated. I did actually have to modify the code for Vive rather than just include different bindings because they're the only controller of the main 3 that don't have both sticks and pads.
Aww yeah! We used the same magic graphics. I liked how you incorporated the different elements into puzzle solving. Nice choice in music too, really added to the theme.
Hahahaha "AWW Jea" as a title! Nicely done!
HTC Vive User here, so I like how to teleport and stuff. SteamVR? Fully compatible for all Headsets I guess! Set my blocks in fire and throw them around. OMG I have unlimited POWER!!!!!!
5 star rating sent, because I'm a wizard now! Thanks for your submission!
While you are here I've played yours, so please check my game out in the button below.
I had a very similar idea of a like tire iron where you could swap parts off. The hammer breaking the cube was cool, but I figured out that you can just pick up the orb and drop it into the funnel. You can just push robochan on the floor to the target, teleport over and stop it, then scoop it up using physics, kind of funny. The last few puzzles were hard so I just teleported through the wall!
Ah I see. That's cool. I actually made a procedural version of that a while ago:

I been meaning to clean this code up for use, and it would be kind of cool to use it to create different procedural destruction stuff like wood breaking or ice shattering.
Perhaps something about my space was set too high. All the other cards were accessible though.
You made me feel like magic is real! Very well done, cool interactions, great functionality, I only wish it were a bit longer. Very good job though, made me feel like Palpatine too ;P
