Loved the WALL-E vibe of the game, what travesties we have left in our wake... Awesome work all :).
Feedback:
Ah well, sounds like there were some awesome things I didn't get to see :). Nice work either way! :D
Thank you for the feedback, we did end up having a large inspiration from WALL-E yes, even if the initial idea was not based on him at all.
As for the battery, we figured out after submitting that it was quite hard to pick up due to the way the interacting worked, if you do wish to try again, all you have to do is aim the center of the robot at the battery and you should be able to get it. There is an image further down in the comments from Asher Farag, another developer on the project, where he shows the angle that pretty much always allows you to pick it up. If you would like to give it another shot i'd love to hear the rest of your thoughts, if not however, im glad you enjoyed what parts you did play. Thank you.
thats sooo cool i love the whole design........omg
This was not the kind of experience I'd expect to see from a two-week jam; the aesthetic and narrative were outstanding! I didn't find the gameplay particularly challenging (apart from an item pickup issue, which is run for the course in a jam) but looking at the environment and listening to the almost City 17-esque advertisements was the engagement factor for me.
Also, hit the nail on the head with sounds! I genuinely didn't notice the treads weren't animated until the end of the game hahaha. Great effort done by all
Thanks for the feedback, super happy you enjoyed our game.
Great aesthetic and environment! Really embodies the theme, and the wheel tracks behind the character were a nice touch. Plus the robot movement sounds were quite nice! Not sure if it was a bug, but the wind pipes had no real effect on my character. Based on the comments, I gather they were meant to act as an obstacle. I appreciate the time and effort taken to craft the world and give it sprinkles of backstory, but I wish there was more to the gameplay, as there were quite a few long stretches without anything to do. Very cool idea!
Thanks for the feedback, it seems some people seem to struggle a lot with the wind pipes and some people don't struggle at all, its odd but i'm glad you enjoyed.
Nice concept. The environment was very cool. I had trouble collecting one of the items though, so I wasn't able to complete the game. It'd be great to see a walkthrough video or similar to see how the rest would have played out.
Thanks for the feedback, the battery item is difficult to pick up but at a certain angle it can be collected, you just have to mess around with it for a bit. we didn't realize how hard it was to pick up that object until after the submission went up.
Good looking game, but very uninteresting gameplay of just walking forward. Pipes were very brutal, requiring multiple attempts until you somehow got the right angle to barely get past them. Was unable to even get to the rocket at the end in under 1.5 minutes as getting past all those wind pipes and giant compactors, took MANY attempts and when i did get past everything as quick as i was able to, i didnt have enough time to even make it to the rocket's ramp and had to start that entire section all over again multiple times.
Good looking visuals/aesthetic and good audio design, just wished there was more to do than hold forward and admire the lighting and detail.
Thanks for the feedback, we did have a lot of other stuff planned in between the traveling around that would have made game play more interesting or faster but we had to cut a lot of things to make it in time.
Managed to Get Past The Pipes.
overall a great game
I just wish that there was a puzzle for each wind pipe, rather than brute force and hoping for the best. I was expecting to use the spare hand, wheel and toolbox I grabbed at the start but I only needed the batteries
How Do I Get Past The Wind Pipes :(
I also had trouble getting past them too! They can be a little tricky but possible!
If you walk into the wind directly and hit them at the right angle you should be able to pass them.
All the wind pipes are possible, it may take a little getting used to but once you figure out how to get past the first one the rest should be easy.
Loved the atmosphere, solid game! :)
The junkyard and all the objects within it created a great atmosphere, and the slow movement gave plenty of time to appreciate it while leaning into the pieced together nature of the protagonist. The choice at the end and the presentation of the finale was a great touch that gave some emotional weight to the story. Good one!
Thanks for the feedback, we did plan for the choice to have more weight but as all jams go, we had to cut some stuff. Glad that we were still able to convey some weight in that final decision.
Very beautiful game, I really like the atmosphere in the game
Interesting game, the design of the surrounding environment is very good, i just wish there were some atmosphere sounds to really immerse that the player in, but overall well done!
Very visually interesting, big fan of the lighting environment set up for this game. I appreciate the more cinematic angle this game takes!
Thanks for the feedback Jaime
Cool game, loving the graphics and the robot design. I found I couldn't pick up the battery at all to continue playing tho
Thanks for the feedback! Unfortunately the collider is a bit messed up bet you can press it if you look at it from the ground like in the image.
Ooooh, ill give it a go now
Cool game, loving the graphics and the robot design. I found I couldn't pick up the battery at all to continue playing tho
